Eviction of Zaczyn squat, Warsaw, February 2024.

Zaczyn was a squat opened in early 2023, located in a former industrial bakery on Kamionkowska street. I've documented it's first days and protests blocking earlier eviction. During it’s run it housed a number of people, as well as a string of cultural events and local activities. It was evicted yesterday. The owner wants plans to build a block of flats in its place.

Police raided the Zaczyn squat, some thugs wrecked the place so nobody could return. it was a nice place, the kitchen was so cold but the company was warm. good raves, community and food sharing efforts were starting to bloom. but nothing we build in this container is safe until the container is destroyed. We won't stop dancing or scheming or remembering.
