         surely when he came to check on his garden there was the occasional intruder. They were mostly squirrels , birds , or maybe a small mouse that would leave him the choice to have to replant everything. But this was a surprise. What was a child doing all the way out here? He barely had any experience talking to adults , he didn’t even know how to talk to a kid.

Sherry looked up at the strange, Asian man with wide eyes.  "You want to cuddle?"  The more she looked at his smile the more creeped out she felt.  "I don't feel safe, mister.  I only cuddle with my friends—"

"Because you are my friend, Zatch."

Sherry gasped slightly.

"...maybe...a small cuddle couldn't hurt."  Confused by the vague memories racing through her head, she agreed and tugged Kiyo down by his shirt and buried her face in his shoulder.

Tsao-Lon frowned to his wandered aimlessly away from the school building.  A while ago he had decided that he would find a dojo so that he could learn some new techniques and fix his rusty reflexes.  The only one that he'd managed to find so far had the guy who'd burned his book as a student, and Tsao-Lon wasn't sure he wanted to meet up with that guy quite yet.  There was no way anyone in his class knew and there was only so much fun he could have sparring with that obnoxious Keys.

Such an unsuccessful search was getting on Tsao-Lon's nerves, but at least he had enough money left over from moving some guy's stuff to buy himself some snacks.  The fish market sounded the tastiest, but he when he looked up he saw that some blonde kid was hogging his favorite stand.  

He wasn't in the mood to wait forever and this kid looked too distracted to make a decision.  Tsao-Lon sighed, "Hey, kid, hurry it up.  Some of us have food to buy."
