Zaid has the second highest INT stat in Rune Factory 3 which means that he is, in theory, better at magic than Ondorus. I know in my heart this would drive the latter insane

Holiday yawned, stretching her arms over her head as she waited in the lobby of the coffee shop. She'd stayed up way too late last night, coffee was needed. She had ordered her favorite; a latte, triple shot and was now waiting on the barista's as they fumbled with orders. If Holiday were to guess, the influx in business could be attributed to Thanksgiving and having outsiders visiting family in town or locals who were tired of being in their own kitchen mingled in with the regulars.

The girl blinked sleep away, hearing her name being called as the cup was slid onto the counter. She reached for it at the same time as someone else, her fingers bumping into his clumsily before crashing into the cup and knocking it onto the floor with a thud. She sighed softly "Oh fuck" she stared down at the puddle leaking from the cup and the coffee splattered sneakers next to her. "I'm so sorry" she said in a panic. "I am not myself today" Holiday rambled.

Disventure Camp Hot Take:

I’m one of those weird Disventure Camps fans who prefers the more unproblematic characters (even moreso after All-Stars), Zaid and Marissa are easily in my A-Tier and the “boring” declarations they get is absolute bullshit.

Sidenote: Jade got hit with this as well to a lesser extent despite making it to F3 and I find it interesting how these 3 characters have one thing in common and that should really say something about the fandom and writing staff.

I like Allison and Zaid’s dynamic in Kill Six Billion Demons a lot. 

It begins with Zaid getting kidnapped and Allison swearing to rescue him. But as the comic goes on, it becomes clear that it’s not because Zaid was Allison’s One True Love or anything. In the first pages of the comic they don’t look very in love, Allison is being unsure if she wants sex or not and Zaid is being impatient and pushy about her making up her mind, and some of Allison’s sorority sisters call Zaid a creep. 

But Allison swears to rescue him anyways. Why? Because she’s gone through some awful stuff in Throne, and Zaid doesn’t deserve to be stuck there, alone. 

And when they do reunite. It was kinda adorable actually? It wasn’t anything big and grand and sweeping. No massive declarations of love. It was just two normal people caught in a crazy situation who see the one other person who’d Get It. Cio dismisses English as a complicated language too troublesome for her to learn (and she’s very not wrong) but Allison and Zaid just immediately begin talking in it. And when Allison falls into her depressive spell in Jadis’ temple, Zaid is the one to go after her and try to talk sense in her, who says he’ll wait for her. She went through all the effort of training to rescue him from this crazy and senseless world, he’ll return the favor. 

They don’t feel romantic to me. But I like their relationship as it is so much better. It’s ‘I went through this awful thing so I can’t leave someone like me to go through it alone’ and I love it. Or that’s how I ended up reading it anyways. I appreciate their friendship and trying to come for each other a lot.
