((Hey guys, been awhile.  How is the pandemic treating you?  I decided to spend over two of these past months dedicated to one of my oldest loves... Sims 2.    I haven’t given up on drawing, I did some of that, but my flighty brain needed a change of pace.   So I made some of my characters in that game, and spent some time shooting screenshots and experimenting with different angles until I finally felt like I could do a comic page again without the layout being so dull I would die.  This actually started out as a rough sketch that needed some more pizzazz.   So, even if it’s not regular drawing, I hope you won’t mind some 3d.  It’s six pages long.  It’s how Zaigan met Fia.  You know, to justify why she puts up with him!))

((All right, and following up from where we left off yesterday, it’s page two!  Zaigan comes to the rescue.  At least this is going better than heroics typically go for him. I mean it doesn’t hurt that this is just against an ordinary low life and not monsters.  In the future, monsters eating people he’s trying to rescue becomes a real issues!  ))

It's Not Paranoia when You're Actually Being Watched...

Already came all this way, figured I might as well grab a drink.  

Normally I wouldn't splurge on stuff from this side of town, but it's a special day and I had a good payout yesterday.  It's kinda strange having a drink that hasn't been watered down three parts to one, and that's if you're lucky.  Not always water back in the Umber.

Didn't get a chance to enjoy my prize though.  Couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched, and a quick look around confirmed my suspicions.  Some guy decked out in fancy armor was staring at me from the window.

Is he one of the guards?  I can't think of any outstanding warrants I had, but who else would be stomping around geared up like that?

I approached the Bee Baron as he dismissed his subjects. I asked about the whole beeline thing; figured it was some crazy gimmick to lure in new customers.  (Gotta confess, it worked.)  He denied any involvement.  Said his bees have never done this before.  Would have rather he just owned it.  Thought it was brilliant, but now it’s just kinda unsettling.

Entering Mead Haven

So I went inside.  The place was far classier than my usual haunts.  It even made the Fox’s Feathers look like a bit of a dive (Heh, probably shouldn’t mention that to Val later.)  Even though it was packed with festival goers none of them noticed the bees. They didn’t even sting anyone!  Guess even the bees in this part of town are more forgiving than what I’m used to.  I was a little disappointed, ‘cuz I’m a terrible person, but this adventure might not be a total wash.  They flew towards this tiny bartender and just started to circle around him.  I’ve found my bee whisperer. So the guy’s not just tiny.  He’s a halfling.  I’ve never really met one, but when I hitched a ride to Ahveriah a couple years back it passed through a town full of them.  You don’t really see a lot of them outside of their own settlements.  Probably pretty inconvenient living in a world twice your size.  Like, even here;  bet he has to walk all over that bar to even do his job!

Following the Bee Line

So I found myself following a literal bee line.  It was weird and I just had to know where they were going.  They didn't break formation all the way through the shops and just kept going.  Eventually they found the place they were looking for and just flew on in.   It was strangely fitting; some tavern called "Mead Haven."  Maybe they'd come here with a vengeance for all their unpaid time spent supplying them with honey.  Even the bees here want their cut of the profits.  

I guess it could be a trick the owners did to draw in more business.  Can you train bees?    Never took them to be particularly smart. | Either way, went to get my answers or at least watch a bunch of unsuspecting smucks get stung!
