Have you ever wanted to draw something but you fought due to your skill level at the time you decide not to do it
yes! It is something I still struggle with a lot, actually, there are multiple things I'd love to do but due to my skill level I just end up giving up mid-way through because it looks terrible, I do NOT "trust the process" enough to give it to myself. but there are some ways I curb it, by finding real-life references and warming up before I decide to start drawing! references the beloved fr fr, and some of my major drawings have speed paints. In most of them, you can see the reference I use! hell, I even end up using MYSELF As a reference if I can find the specific pose I'm looking for.
most of the time, with skill level issues regarding drawing at least, you just need to do more to get out of your comfort zone, not liking ur lineart? change ur brush, not like ur shading? search up a few tutorials, not liking the sketch? do thumbnails, find the pose you want online, and do whatever you can to push yourself out of ur comfort zone constantly so you can continuously improve, that's something I didn't learn until I started drawing Ace Attorney at the beginning of the pandemic, the square men tm made me improve DRASTICALLY. find a game you love and use it to improve as well, use those characters to push yourself even further!. geez, what I wrote a lot.. erm.. TLDR: get good/j TLDR (FOR REALS: get a game you can easily get addicted to, and that has a fandom, and use it to push your skill further, whether writing or drawing or even sewing, make that costume! make that fic! make that drawing! push yourself out of ur comfort zone!
Ough. Eugh. Augh.
That weird feeling of rereading messages with old mutuals and wondering how the conversations started and where it stopped 🥲
