I have this weird theory, but was Zankou originally a genie?

As I was perusing the wiki, I read that its implied? that Zankou got powerful by stealing powers, and maybe its because I recently rewatched "Be Careful What You Witch For" but in that episode the genie had no problem stealing the dragon warlock's flight. And it would explain why Zankou couldn't be vanquished, before he could, because genies also can't be vanquished.

I understand stealing powers isn't something rare, it happens in the pilot! But something about Zankou, makes me think he might have been a genie who dreamed not of freedom but of power. Maybe a witch or warlock wished they didn't have this power or any of their powers, maybe they wanted to be mortal, maybe they didn't want the responsibility and Zankou took it for himself. Maybe thats why he can cast spells and make potions, basic witch powers.

Fuck I love Oded Fehr, he’s awesome in everything but I really love his Zankou, first demon in charmed I really rooted for.

whenever I make a fancasting for a male character I always want to pick Oded he’s just so hot and talented.
