2. Is there a new story idea you’d like to start exploring? I have a bunch of fic ideas written down in a doc, but there isn't any particular one that's been haunting me lately
8. What aspect of your writing craft would you like to improve most next year (dialogue, pacing, structure, etc.)? Idk if this counts, but being less precious about deleting stuff during edits. It's something I've already been working on, but I'd like to keep at it until I don't have any more second thoughts about whether to hit that backspace button when something I've written isn't quite working
12. What writing goal would make you feel proud to accomplish by the end of the year? I was hoping to have gotten to 750k words published on AO3 by the end of 2025, but didn't manage to get there, so I suppose hitting that goal (or 800k even 👀) in 2026 would probably be it!
20. What kind of advice would you like to give other writers for the next year? Almost no piece of writing advice is helpful for every writer, but I think the most basic thing I've got is that I think people should try to be kinder to themselves about their writing. At least 90% of the posts I see about writing are bemoaning how awful and wretched it is, and while those posts are funny, I do think that it's causing some actual damage to the way people see and approach their writing. Rally against pessimism! Find the joy in your hobbies and cling to it as hard as you can!!! @zapshroom Thanks for sending in some asks for the game~! 💖
