‘A friend, is it? I think that’s rich… coming from you.’
I hadn’t known it was her he sent me tracking after… and if I knew? Oh, I know I would have come anyway, if only for the chance of salvaging a shred of information about the others. Alf… perhaps Zidhal? Odrick? Zash did think this a worthy lead… but was he aware of the history between her and I?
‘Don’t patronize me, I was nothing more than a tool and a means to an end. I get how it works and it’s quite sad that you’re the only that doesn’t… it wasn’t personal. It was just business, I was paid to do your friend in. I don’t care what you think of me, so save your worthless words.’
A year’s passed already since the day that wretched sylvari double crossed the Fiery Songbird’s crew - murdering Seaweed as she fled the Sanctuary, a man who was close as kin to me, who knew me from childhood and cared for my father. A kind, clever soul, ever locked in a drunken stupor for not being able to face the horrors of a world bereaved of so many of his loved ones, but he was proud… so proud to sail with the Songbird.
Hatred does not come often to me, but when it does take hold…
As ever, Inleias was right to be wary of me… I should have tackled her, taken the information by force, only I didn’t act fast enough and I lost her. She escaped through some backdoor, leaving the temple treasury she holed up in stripped of it’s many artifacts.
A murderer and a thief, and a coward.
She did give me one thing at least, the implication that some did survive.
