TUTORIAL BY PSCS5; How to make concert videos have a natural tone

Before I start: 

I will not be making this tutorial into a psd. If I make this available for download, you are not going to be learning anything if I just hand it to you on a silver platter. Do this with me and you will become better at coloring gifs! 

When trying to make natural/neutral gifs there aren't as many adjustments needed to get that result. Color Balance, a Black and White Gradient Map, and a little bit of Vibrance is really all you need. A Solid Color fill can also add a little more tone/color to your gif in a different way than Vibrance. 

GUIDE:

Now let's start:

1. To get your gif bright add a Level adjustment layer. You can play with the arrows if you'd like to get the brightness up but I like to set my level to Screen. I lowered the opacity a bit because it was a bit to bright. 

2. Black and white Gradient map. This adds a lot of contrast to your gif. It also tones down the color a bit. 

Next steps:

3. On cap 3 labeled 2, you'll see the gif has a bit of a blue undertone to it. So add a bit of Color Balance.

4. Now I wanted to add a little bit more color to it as well as some contrast so I added a Vibrance layer, toggled with the arrow until I got something that I liked and then I set it to Softlight.

5. This is optional. But I went and added a Solid Color Fill:

and then I set it to Softlight. This gave the gif a nice brown undertone

And if you'd like your gif to have some I don't know lets say a green undertone, go to green, choose a dark tone of the color and then set it to softlight and also lower the opacity if needed. 

And that is basically it. Obviously on other gifs you are going to have to work more on to get your result so this might not work on all of them. Use selective coloring to make other color pop if you want to add a little bit more color dimension to your gif. Hope this helped!
