For any Terry Zdunich fans who haven’t yet come across this, this is his newest project, an anthology of songs about (what else?) dead people and all the fun ways they ended up that way. It’s a collaborative album (or three, I’m not entirely sure, they’re not done with it yet) that focuses on the insanity and mayhem following the bigger-than-Krakatoa eruption of Mt.Tambora in 1815, the “Year Without A Summer”. Tl;dr: there was a mini ice age and people went pretty bonkers.
Check this out if you never learned about it, it’s fascinating: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_Without_a_Summer
Anyway, here’s the first number
And my personal favorite. I’m in love with these not just for the gleefully singing about awful events, but with the music style as well. Anyone who can make a song about finding a dead body in a haystack sound like an Appalachian folk song is downright genius.
