Well, heres some Kayn headcannons that i wrote to not to be so dead here. There isnt much thought poured into these so dont expect much. I just like to reread zed's comic and wanted to share my thoughts like how @/Runeterrankhaleesi did.

Kayn headcannons via "Zed" comic (with pictures)

The sharapnel scar that was left by Jhin is still visible on his left arm but Kayn prefers to let Rhaast cover it up with his possession. He is not very proud of it because he could have avoided it if he didnt underastimated Jhin.

As i've said on my previous Kayn headcannons, he prefers to use Ionian slangs and Ionian accent to feel more like them. If we think of English as Ionian here, these prove my point. He speaks more daily-like compared to everybody in the comic. (You can say that he kind of forces an Ionian accent over his Noxian one)

Even if Kayn is very familiar with violence, he doesnt enjoys it. His face when he sees Jhin's victims shows it. He can touch them, he is familiar with it, but what Jhin did to them disgusts him.

Again with his Ionian accent and how he observes the situation first. Zed told him to stay low and Kayn chooses not to pick up a fight with Akali even if she is clearly outnumbered.

This pannel speaks for itself. Kayn is BAD at getting hints or flirting overall. He is just a big ahh dork when it comes to that.

He knows that he is handsome but he doesnt know how to use it properly.

Happy boi. He does have some "friends" and people in Yanlei seems to like Kayn aswell. They're all cheering for him and its kind of cute.

He can lie and put up an act very well when it comes to missions and plans. I personally think thats because he is a Noxian. In "Katarina" comic, Talon lies to Katarina so well that his heartbeat does not even miss a beat. It not the same with Kayn but pretty close.

Aside from that, he really is trying to hold his laugh lmao. He must be thinking how much more stupid can Kusho get.

His act fooled even Kusho and Zed. He is proud.

Anyway, i cannot add more photos so thats it. I just wanted to have fun while sharing my thoughts that are not inside a request's walls and without stupid grammar rules. Love u all 🖤

Alternate summary: Exactly what it says on the tin: the Zed Comic general plot, but with a few changes to better fit in the universe I've established for this series. Mainly Shen's characterization and how the last big plot twist plays out. If you're frustrated with how the comic played out, then I think you might like this fic.

For those wondering: I got into League of Legends lore about two months ago thanks to listening to TBSkyen’s design analysis shorts (they’re good, I recommend you check the guy out). I thought about what I’d do differently if I was in full control of League Lore, and the Zed Comic came to mind. I rewrote the entire thing last month, and only now am I facing my cringe on main. (<- making this post at 1:45 am and will probably regret it in the morning)

So... for any League of Legends fan that might stumble upon this post: if you’ve read the Zed Comic and didn’t like it, there’s this thing I wrote you might like! (main differences under the cut)

-Like I said in the summary, I changed Shen’s characterization to be much calmer. He only really loses his temper once, and it’s during a pretty stressful moment. Everyone else also received some adjustments to their own characterization.

-Also like I said in the summary, the big plot twist from the comics plays out much differently. To make it simple, but to be cryptic for those who don’t know: Zed doesn’t know.

-Since the original comic essentially took away Zed’s autonomy and agency, I decided to add themes about autonomy and agency here.

-Made adjustments to the pacing and dialogue.

-Took out the build up to Kayn betraying Zed since that doesn’t happen.

-Removed the ship tease between Akali and Kayn. I did up it with Shen and Zed, though (repressed middle aged men). This is more self-indulgent than anything

-Also self-indulgent, but I added some Kayn scenes (Rhaast has dialogue now! Wahoo!)

-I’m letting them say fuck.

-There’s two ‘Deleted Scene’ one-shots I couldn’t fit into the rewrite itself: Kayn actually talking with [REDACTED], and a flashback scene with Kennen in it.

-It segues into a series of works about Shen and Zed reconciliating starting from here (which is basically the last few pages of the last comic), so if you’re interested in that, give it a read!
