Drew my asura siblings! Serious, annoyed sister and silly brother. But he can be serious in his own way.
They're part of Astral Ward.
Well I never drew an asura before. Presenting my asura Zeegix! And his tiny interaction with Michael.
Guess who dragged Michael to the beach on the Festival of Four Winds? Yes, this funny but mysterious asura - Zeegix. He knew he needed it even if he is not showing it!
Zeegix is a sort of sidekick character for Michael. A bit annoying (to him) but sometimes has very good ideas and eventually grows to see Zee as his friend.
🖊🖊 for Zeegix and Viex!
@mystery-salad
Zeegix and Viex are researchers of natural fractals in Astral Ward. Their research partially helps with understanding artificial fractals and also the recent fiasco. That also includes understanding Alex situation since they're observing nowadays.
Natural fractals can be quite dangerous if not handled properly. Zeegix and Viex found it out the hard way. There was a fractal in which both of them almost died but only one managed to leave it. Something went wrong with the magical structure of it, which caused Viex to be trapped in the specific variation of the fractal (Silent Surf) with no way to trigger this variant again. Zeegix left it not only traumatized but also with very strange, new powers, which only Revenants use.
For years he grew to accept his sister was dead. It was heartbreaking and making him feel guilty but he masked all of that with his goofy persona. During that time he got to learn his new powers and managed to connect to deceased spirit of Commander Minerva. Even if the known knowledge on Revenant's legend says these are just echoes of real people but Minerva felt... very reactive and sentient. Especially when Zeegix finally met Michael in Gyala Delve. Minerva insisted to not tell Michael that Zeegix is channeling her or talking to her. He respected her wishes.
When Michael ended up cooperating with Astral Ward, he decided to join an expedition to one of the natural fractals. It turned out Michael came back with Viex. But how?! The incredible luck or perhaps the magical surge which collapsed artificial fractals also "unlocked" this natural fractal - specifically, it's proper magical configuration (something like specific map IP).
The moment Zeegix saw Viex, he was in shock first. Then he just broke down in tears. He missed her so much and hoped she didn't hate him - he had no idea how he could truly save her.
And some additional info:
For human standards Zeegix is rather intelligent but in asuran society he was considered to possess low intelligence. He was denied places which most asura went to gain useful knowledge and experience. Zeegix nature is usually to be smily and joke, so usually he appeared to shrug it all off but Viex, his sister, was angry for him and fought to accept him in places such as college.
Viex is the more fierce and blunt twin. Some could consider her insensitive or lacking empathy but Zeegix would strongly disagree with that. He considers her to be a very loving sister, who was ready to fight against asura society just to accept her brother, whose intelligence level was just a little below expectations.
The dynamic between Commander and his sidekick.
Btw that's not a ship even if this meme is used for ships usually.
Slight description of that dynamic below.
Zeegix is a revenant asura who joined the detective crew in Gyala Dvelve. Since he's been a detective himself, Zeegix was definitely a useful addition. On the other hand a mild annoyance to Commander with his overt curiosity, willingness to make interesting (or "interesting") comments and funny (sometimes only to him) remarks.
Suspiciously enough he must be channeling a legend who was capable of using elemental powers - the previous Pact Commander (Minerva), who has been dead for 8 years at this point. But Zeegix was asked by her not to reveal that to anyone but especially Michael. Despite his rather silly nature Zeegix respects Minerva's wishes very seriously.
Zeegix once more.
My asura revenant. Despite the color theme he isn't and never was Inquest.
Lemme introduce that only asura character I have - Zeegix.
He became a revenant via his failed experiment related to Mists. Expect him to be a dumbass but in rather cute way.
3 and 9 for Michael and Zeegix, plus 20 and 21 because why not
3: How did your oc discover themself? Did something cause them to question, or did they always know?
Michael:
When you're a Commander since you're 18, constantly focused on all these world-ending threats you don't have much time to stop and think about yourself.
I believed something has to click in me to fall in love and didn't think much about it... until I saw people showing me quite strong interest in me. Some were bold enough to be flirtatious or attempting to "invite" me to something more. The "something more" wasn't just kissing... and some of the invitations were crossing my boundaries. What I made them aware of quickly. They stopped quickly.
None of it excited me. It only repulsed me!
I am aware since... I turned 25. Very late, I know.
Zeegix:
If I were honest I used to think that it's the rest of the world which is weird. I still do even if apparently I am in the minority... but does that still mean the majority is correct? I doubt it.
I was late to find it out until I was enlightened by Snargle's incredible knowledge on such subjects. He seems almost fascinated. I was puzzled and I am still certain he had to joke. And his books too! Who would read that seriously?
It's only cute to see couples holding hands and kissing. It's the only parts of his books I don't skip. It makes me feel very happy! It makes me blush!Anything further? No! I skip these parts in horror! Why would you ruin your perfect date with sex?!
9:Are there cultural or lore specific aspects to their identity? If applicable, does their species affect it?
Michael:
Humans can be sometimes painfully traditional. That includes putting all importance on marriage.
Sure, I'd marry a friend I trust the most and love the most but according to humans that's not how marriage works. I was laughed at for suggesting a marriage with a friend. As a Commander I decided not to ask any further why they found it so silly... I didn't want to risk my reputation.
Speaking of my reputation, there was a few people who really wanted to arrange a marriage with me and their daughter or son. Usually "son" was an option when I said I am not interested I'm women... Human society... even if I am a part of it, makes me uncomfortable sometimes. Norn society, which I lived in for quite long as well, was much better.
Zeegix:
I don't think we asura put such importance on such subjects. We're way more focused on our technology, education.
It's humans who are much weirder to me as they seem a little more focused on that. Marriage? Okay. Being good in bed? I guess making bed well matters a lot to humans...? Or they value not snoring...?
Michael: ekhem, no... Not that.
Zeegix: Oh! I know now! It's about having good hours of sleep I see!
Michael: *facepalm*
