2011 Review

So many things happened in 2011, it's hard to remember them all. The always helpful Google has posted the Zeitgeist 2011: Year In Review video, to remember all the bad (Japan Earthquacke, Brasil Floods, Various Deaths - Amy, Steve Jobs, Liz Taylor, etc.) and good (Southern Sudan Independence, Arab Spring, Occupy Movement, etc) things happened this year:

An absolutely spot-on mix of last year's most blogged music. Can they do anything wrong? Cause I'm seriously doubtful.

Hypemachine Zeitgeist 2011

Hypemachine's Zeitgest 2011 is well underway! At the end of each year, the music blog aggregator crunches the numbers and unveils the top 50 most-blogged-about artists (with accompanying amazing map of the music landscape by The Perry Bible Fellowship's very own Nicholas Gurewitch) and albums of the year.

Best of all, though, are the top song mixtapes.  Several artists (mostly groups) are given hypemachine's huge list of the most blogged-about and favorited tracks of 2011 and asked to choose a bunch to make into a mix along with their personal selections. I'm really excited because of the five already posted, three are by artists who I really enjoy: The Internet, RAC, and The White Panda

First up is The Internet, whose recent release Purple Naked Ladies has been on heavy rotation for me.
