Hey! Could I request MC in a poly relationship with Saeyoung and Zen? We're MC starts as an emotional support for Seven and in the middle of it gets into a relationship with Zen but realizes that she also has feelings for Seven. Maybe it comes to the three of them talking and trying to figure things out. What kind of relationship would they all have?
Seven / Zen
You were best friends with Saeyoung and you had been his rock, you had been there for everyone in the RFA, honestly. It was thanks to your faith in him that everyone was together and that there were no more secrets to be had. At least, that’s what he said if anyone brought it up.
It had been a long time coming after attack after attack on each of the members but everything had worked itself out in the end. You two just sort of blended in a way that nobody else could. There was always this comfortable hum when you with him, but you thought that you were just friends, and nothing more than that given his interest.
You were okay with that.
Well, you thought you were, he was busy trying to fix his relationship with his brother and focus on rebuilding what had been broken, so you stayed his friend and support at the side, but you tried to rip your feelings away from him so you could try to move on.
That led you to lean into Zen’s feelings for you. You knew that he had always had somewhat of a crush on you and you couldn’t deny that the feelings were not exactly mutual. It was often play flirting and comfortable talk when it came to how you spoke with him but there was a natural connection. It was fun to be with him and he treated you like royalty.
Who wouldn’t find themselves in a relationship with someone like Zen? He was absolutely amazing and it just sort of happened one day. You slipped your hand in his and it was just like it was meant to happen. He only chuckled and stole a kiss from your lips.
That was that, or well, it was supposed to be as simple as that.
You settled into a relationship with Zen and tried to focus on helping him with his career as things calmed down the work started to flow back in. It was supposed to be smooth sailing from here. You would be with Zen and the RFA would find a new normal after everything.
It wasn’t that easy. You tried to push aside your feelings for Seven but every time you were around him, your heart would still race and his smile would melt the ice walls you tried to pull up around yourself to move on. His laughter was still music to your ears and you wanted him, God, you wanted him.
Guilt wracked your soul because you loved Zen too, but you didn’t want to hurt him by admitting you loved Seven too. It grew to a point where you closed your heart to everyone around you. You wouldn’t talk to everyone as much as you used to and you didn’t feel like you deserved to be around the ones you cared about because you felt selfish. You should have been happy with Zen, but you weren’t happy with just that.
It was a lot, to say the least. It wasn’t until Zen caught and cornered you in his apartment that he was able to get the truth out of you after a few weeks of hit or miss conversations. He was worried that you were hiding something from him, like the media talking about you or belittling you for being his partner, but when you admit why you really were so far away from him, he's a bit floored.
“You like Seven?”
“I love you too, Zen, but I... I’ve always loved him.”
It’s a lot for Zen to think about but honestly when it comes down to it and after he’s had a night to mull it over, he decides that what matters to him is that you are happy. Whatever it means for you to be happy, he’s willing to try. Of course, you would have to sit down with Seven and talk about that.
So, that’s more or less what happens next. You invite Seven over so you can talk to him about why you’ve been avoiding him and why you were acting so... unlike yourself lately. With Zen’s support, you’re able to admit your feelings to him and that you know he only sees you as a friend but you need him to know this. Much to your surprise, Seven is honest with you too, about how he loves you but he thought that you only wanted to be his friend.
Turns out you both were assuming without asking.
Zen has to shake his head and sigh, “Ah, kids these days.”
Seven is not amused, “Zen, you’re hardly older than me, man. Don’t tease Y/N like that. We’re both sort of to blame for letting it fester like this.”
The three of you hash something out after a long conversation that night where you’re easing into a relationship with Seven. Zen is okay with that, he wants you to be happy and if it means he has to put up with Seven, well, he’s okay with that happening.
For a while there, you’re spending your time between Seven and Zen. It’s nice but it doesn’t feel quite right. You get to spend nights curled up with Seven or out on the town with Zen. It’s fun, and you love that you get to be with the men that you love so much but there’s a disconnect. So, you make an active note to go out with both of them together.
You like being with them, you shouldn’t have to split time between them like that, you know! Zen is the one who is a bit unsure of it at first. He’s a pretty jealous guy so it’s hard for him to see another guy kissing you. Seven is totally fine with that. He’s always sort of you know, had a little puppy crush on Zen and he can’t deny he doesn’t like being around him like that.
You started to pick up on that fact really fast. He’s always helping Zen trend and ensuring that he’s doing well online, anyway. It was just sort of obvious to you that he had a crush. Seven’s been guilty of pining over Zen for a long time and you figure that it’s high time he at least make a point of giving that a shot. After all, you’re all in a relationship!
This doesn’t have to be just you between them, it could be more than that.
Hijinks ensue as Seven tries to get closer to Zen through all sorts of means and it just gets hilarious each time Seven makes a move and Zen is utterly oblivious to what’s happening.
It probably isn’t until Seven starts getting more brazen during your date nights that Zen picks up on what’s happening. Zen flirts with everyone so it’s not weird for him and Seven to go back and forth. What is new to him is how Seven sprawls himself over his lap and coos over him affectionately as you normally would.
You think Zen would have figured out that he sort of was into him after all those times Seven came over to the apartment dressed up as a girl on a day he was feeling more feminine or just wanted to play around. His internalized anxiety over being attracted to another guy was probably playing into how long it took him to realize what was happening to him.
This actually doesn’t have a big blow-up or anything, it sort of just happens one evening. Seven might just nonchalantly kiss him during a movie when you’re not there to act as a distraction and it just goes and escalates from that point. Cue your surprised but enthused face when you realize that Seven was able, to be honest as well and Zen was okay with it.
The relationship dynamic is wholesome. Seven is guilty of being a sadistic little brat and likes to torment Zen until he punishes him. That’s what’s going on with them. You’re guilty of egging it on just to see how far it’ll go. Seven easily plays with you too but he’s a lot softer when it comes to you. Zen is also gentle with you but with a much firmer touch.
There’s a lot of affection shared because you’re a group of insecure people who found each other and love to hear that someone cares about you. Not everyone knows what’s going on for a while there between you three because you and Zen were already together. There might be an instance where Yoosung thinks that you’re cheating on Zen with Seven, and he’ll have to be calmly explained to that “Yoosung, you can date more than one person and we’re all together.”
It’s just really cute! You and Seven are constantly doing everything to support Zen, him from the sidelines and you from the forefront. You, Seven, and Jaehee are utterly guilty of being the Zen Fanclub here now. Except when it comes to Elly, Seven will always love her, and Zen will just have to deal with that from now on.
Seven doesn’t really like the spotlight but honestly, going out with Zen is an excuse to dress up in costume. Zen likes having two pretty girls on his arm, that’s always nice. You’re always red in the face because they’re always doting on you when it’s like this!
