I WANT to maybe start posting little bits of worldbuilding and character thoughts again, but I don't know how- do I just go for it casual style? Do I just start rambling and make tiny little posts with single thoughts in them?

Hi! Who is your earliest fleshed out character? How are they different now than how they were back then?

Wolfy!! THIS IS A GREAT AND THOUGHTFUL QUESTION thank you so much for asking!

I think my oldest surviving character would probably be Jawz, who has been around for AGES. Her name and general concept got ascribed to a few different things WAY in the early days (the name definitely didn't start from. a street sharks fan character when I was little), and she was always creature/shapeshifter aligned, who got into trouble and prone to mischief, as well as getting chased around and lots of fun adventures. Way early on there was definitely some blurry lines between her as a character and her as a self insert (I thought she was awesome, so most of my screen names revolved around her, and for an amount of time in middle and high school went by that as a nickname)- she's definitely her own very distinct person, and has been for ages, but some of the way early art of her has glasses for this reason!

She's been getting into interesting trouble, running around cities and vexing the people at Spectrum (they started it!) for a very long time, and has been a shapeshifter for most of it. She's gotten a bit smarter about the trouble, in that I don't think she gets caught or noticed as much as she used to, but the impulse is still there! These days she can mostly be found running odd jobs and as a courier around Central, and in any good arcade or milkshake joint.

(A close runner up would probably be Matt and Julian- early on I didn't realize they were two separate people, and was very confused why That One Scientist At Spectrum Jawz had run ins with was sometimes very nice and sometimes a complete bastard?)

(Though speaking of Julian, he's also pretty Old, and has definitely grown a Lot as a character- he can still be a bastard, but now he's got a soft side and depth, an a lot of emotional introspection, when he wants to- at least until he gets riled and opens his mouth,)

But in brighter news, my birthday is coming up (the 29th!) and I'm looking forward to doing some long distance cooking and shenanigans with my best bud!

Also I may or may not have a tumblr shenanigan in the works in general. Keep your eyes peeled.

Hey guys! Sorry for the long radio silence- quite a lot has happened in the past few months, but I'd like to try and start being a bit more active around these parts?

(We lost Karmel after an aggressive battle with cancer at the end of September, my dad died in the same week (we weren't close- I haven't seen him in years in fact but still) and then, a month later my mom was in the hospital for a week for a very concerning mystery problem that we never fully figured out- she's thankfully doing better now! But oof, it was a rough holiday season, and I'm lucky I have people in my life helping me through it.

I've been dealing with possible heart issues for about a month now, and am Hoping it's just stress giving me palpitations- certainly can't imagine where that could have come from if it is! But at least I have an appointment with a cardiologist next week to try and get a better idea of what's been going on.)

I know I don't need to explain Why I haven't been around, and my presence on social media the past few years has definitely been on and off- but I want a place I can type out my little thoughts and share my little doodles when I have them again!!

How has the lore of your characters and world changed over time? Are there any changes that were particularly large, or did you tend to build onto it gradually?

Also, which character of yours do you have the most fun drawing?

KVROII!! THIS IS A REALLY GOOD ASK THANK YOU! It's definitely changed and matured over time- I'd say that most of the changes have been gradual and built upon? Rather than have big things I needed to change once I found something that worked better, I tended to be the sort who would just have big blanks where puzzle pieces were missing, that one day something would click, fill that blank, and suddenly make way more sense. (For example, I knew there was ~some lab~ that Julian worked at and that Jawz had run ins with for years before I found out the name- it didn't have a placeholder until that point, but I was really happy when I learned it was called Spectrum!) So less 'oh suddenly I had a better idea and have to change Everything' and more 'oh, I just got some details and the very simple understanding I had of X has now become way more nuanced, that makes SENSE'?

Likewise, some of the changes are both my understanding growing, but also characters or events growing, too- Julian was and still is a bastard, but he's had a chance to show other facets of himself, too- facets that were always there, but obscured through the prevailing circumstances around him. (It's harder to see someone's soft side when they didn't really have any strong friendships at the time to show that softer side through, you know?)

ALSO GOSH THAT'S HARD, it definitely varies, but I love drawing Julian, love coloring Lane (his hair is so fun for me), and when I'm in an animal mood, I often default towards Kaerith or Zeon- but I think I have most fun when I have a specific idea for a thing I want to get down and can do that!

I WILL BE HONEST these are not the best juice, but I think it's because I like getting proper actual juice instead of '36% juice drink'- BUT they're still pretty good, and I like having a portable little pouch as a treat! (My favorite juice is probably pineapple though!)

*banging pots and pans more loudly* I’m also terrified of being judged for poor storytelling skills or labeled problematic for the asshole actions of my antagonists, despite the fact that negative interactions are just as important to stories as positive oonnessss

*banging becomes desperate* I recognize my stories need work but by being too afraid to share them I have also become afraid to work on them, and am therefore only hindering myself and furthering the cycleeeee
