An intro into the Zepto Javascript library, and some of its pros and cons.
As of February 2015, we are still getting ecommerce clients -- big MNC clients -- that ask for IE8 support. Supporting only modern browsers may be good in an ideal world inside a vacuum, but the reality is that much of the world still relies on IE as a window to the internets. Most of the time they have a point, such as IE being surprisingly dominant in South Korea, but sometimes the request for IE support is both irrational and out of our control, such as the fact that the CEO of a company still uses IE8 and will be the one who has the last word on the site's customer experience. I'm sure execs who still use IE are only using it because they're auditing our sites from work, and their company still haven't upgraded their PCs in ages. We all know what the default browser on a Windows 7 PC is -- it is just what it is.
