cant the Soul gem like, animate things as well? like giving them "life"? if that's one of its powers (assuming i'm not misremembering) then maybe he makes another bunch of armors and just, has them "live".
it can fuck with souls(as the name implies) but i dont remember it ever doing something like that specifically. afaik it can only affect the life of things that actually have or have had it. its space magic tho so who knows what kinda stuff theyll pull
however by this point, i would hope that tony has learned his lesson on giving his creations life of their own lol

short of it is: death via Emblem Heartless (the colorful ones with the black and red crest somewhere on them) makes a Nobody. If the spirit (heart, body, mind and spirit are separate things in that universe) is powerful enough that makes a Nobody. Kill the Emblem spawned by Emblem Death (death by emblem = emblem, death by natural = gone) and the Nobody, and you reverse the death. Org members had their Emblems killed, then they died, so their original selves came back.
