I don't know Taylor and will not make any assumptions about who she is or isn't in love with. All I know is that Folklore was written during quarantine when Taylor had a lot of time on her hands and alone with herself, and I feel like she is yearning for more or missing something that she no longer has, but then there is Invisible String in which she sounds content and settled and where she was destined to be.

I’m going to assume she’s in love with Joe. I do think it’s possible to be in love and still have feelings of yearning and sadness. Those feelings can come from anything. A movie, books, a song, old journal entries.....anything. She’s an artist, it’s basically her job to be emotional. She said “picking up a pen is my way of escaping into fantasy, history, and memory.” I really think you should re read the prologue. I don’t think she’s trying to fool us. I think she wanted to create something beautiful. I said before that I think it’s possible that she was inspired by her relationship with Harry, but I don’t think any of these songs are 100% about him.
