"I'm surprised to see Arthur didn't find a way to tag along with you. That cat gets into everything."
@zerosrequiem asked: Tucks one of his bangs behind his ear.
There were no defenses to lower. No chance to process the movement from the corner of his eye. There was only a light touch to his ear that took him out of his book.
The pages were already half forgotten.
"Suzaku? Do you want attention?"
@zerosrequiem was Rooted.
L.L. didn't remember much. He had laid down the night prior beside C.C. and the next moment was he standing in a room. An unmade bed, nightstand, table and chair adorn the bleak and dusty space. The only light was from the lap that seemed to be on its last leg, flickering like it's ready to burn out any moment.
On the side of the room was a young man. It took a few breaths for L.L. to realize what he was staring at.
"You..."
It seemed he was noticed at the same time.
"You interloper... If it wasn't for you-!! I'll erase you, finally."
The words were spat like acid it made L.L.'s blood howl in his ears as he pressed himself closer to the wall. The young man took an unsteady step forward before he all but dashed toward him, raising the scepter to swing downward. L.L. moved out of the way just as the metal collided against the wall, momentarily getting stuck on the drywall.
"Show some decorum and stand still!"
L.L. scrambled to the other side of the room to grab on to the door handle, twisting and tugging before realizing it was locked. Why wouldn't it be!?
"Go back to Hell where you belong, Julius!"
@zerosrequiem asked asked: "You..."
L.L. stared. There wasn't much else he was supposed to do in the few fleeting moments. Question after question flooded his mind; What was he doing here? Were the Black Knights here too? What about Nunnally?
They were nearly never ending. "Suzaku..."
"Where are we?"
@zerosrequiem asked (Rooted): Immediately, the younger Knight of Seven approaches, murderous intent in his gaze. It's seeing the ghost of the past, manifest. "You." The word is a curse.
"Kururugi--"
L.L. almost didn't catch the malice that dripped from the word directed toward him. He took a step back, then another until he he was turning on his heel.
That was not Kururugi. It didn't take his eyes adjusting to the light of the hallway to see that. The aura of that guy was enough to keep the chill in his spine.
He locked the door as he stepped away from it. He looked for anything to hold in his hands before that one barrier was turn down eventually.
@zerosrequiem asked: "It's....complicated. Because I want to forgive you but I don't yet. I....want to be honest with what you can expect from me. I can't compartmentalize like you do."
"I don't have any real expectations for you or for our relationship."
An fairly honest statement.
"I wouldn't try to pursue anything with you if I did want to hold you to some sort of unrealistic standard. However I do expect you to speak your mind if something I do oversteps a boundary."
[A small bag of handmade chocolate squares is left for him to find, anonymously]
Had it not been for the fact he found them on his bed, he would've thought they belonged to one of his elusive roommates. There wasn't a tag or card attached to them and it made him frown. Just a bit.
Maybe one of the others left it here by accident? But it was stationed in the middle of his bed. An option invitation for his participation in this little gift exchange...
He plucked the bag up having made his decision. He opened the bag and popped one of the chocolates into his mouth. These certainly were a treat he's known well throughout his years of being popular among his classmates; Homemade chocolates.
There really... was a process of elimination on who left these here, but he could only imagine a green eyed man being too shy to give them to him. Kururugi was a very silly man. He'll have to properly thank him for the gift.
@zerosrequiem asked: "So gambling IS legal here. It wasn't legal back in Japan." Suzaku muses. "I wonder if chess is popular here?"
Toji had been scrounging for something to do. After figuring out that he had a stipend and amenities taken care of, he was more than a little excited to see what the entertainment was like around here!
Which meant ease dropping on some schmuck who can't keep his thoughts to himself.
"Really now?" He asks casually, "Do you know where the nearest gambling hall is?"
Games, slots, or preferably racing would be nice to bet on.
