They’re VERY clear on where they stand.

                   He  doesn’t like her, not even as a friend.                   She’s  intrusive, sticking  her  bright  hair                   in  places it  doesn’t  belong.   She’s  sly,                   cunning,     nothing  like  his  sweet  Yuki.

When he walks over to her, couples clearing a path for him, Jinx expects him to yell at her.  Kick her out, even, for something or another.  Perhaps blow her cover—it’d be a public scene, one where she can’t use magic.  Maybe, if he was feeling particularly like an asshole, he’d tell her  ’I told you so”.

                   She doesn’t like him, not even as a friend                   He’s angry, cold,  and  so  self-loathing  it                   makes  her  skin  crawl.     There’s  some-                   thing bloodthirsty about him  that’s  scary.

So when Aido leaves her to go flirt with some of the ridiculously fangirly day class, Jinx is left alone—for Zero to approach.  She’s about to open her mouth, to shoot a witty half-veiled insult when his hand is sticking in front of her face.

If that was a slap, he missed.

She stares at it, confused and angry, before looking up.  And he’s still angry, yes, but there was also determination in those lilac eyes.  And those pale lips forced themselves open, as if every word pained him.  

" Dance with me. "

Jinx remembers to close her mouth after a moment, leaving her arms crossed over the black and violet dress.  ” You don’t really look like you want to dance. “

Zero looks over at the dance floor, and understanding hits her.  Yuki and Kaname are in the center, drawing looks of longing and jealousy.  And now that she was looking, the tension between the two men seemed almost palpable.

To his credit, he doesn’t actually crush her hand when she puts it in his.  Her black, almost witchlike dress unwittingly fits his dark suit and lavender tie well——almost as well as the two manage to glide onto the dance floor with inhuman grace.  His arm wraps securely around her waist as she rests her pale hand in his.

                                                   You’re in my arms and                                                                      all the world is gone                                                    the music’s playing on for only two.

Kaname is glaring subtly, noticed only by the night class.  But still the two couples danced on, as if oblivious to each other’s anger.  When the song was over, the pureblood made a gracious exit with his date, leaving the silver and pink haired partners on the floor.

          ” You can let go now. “

                            It’s clear after all, that Zero just needed to use her.

But he doesn’t let go, and they’re swept into another dance.

" You’re a good dancer. "

Oh, they’re clear on where they stand.  Once the songs over, once their costumes are shed, they’ll go back to hating each other.  But as for now, they’ll stay, mending their injured pride with small steps and the sway of the music.

Between Zero & Yuki Cross | Vampire Knight

Yuki falls asleep on the couch first.  Zero is usually too tense from smelling her blood to sleep next to her.  Sometimes they watch a movie together late at night and being the hyper girl she is, she’s pretty burned out by that point and falls asleep on Zero’s shoulder.  Zero wakes up first though, since he’s an early bird that broods as the sun rises.

Yuki is in charge of the TV remote, mainly because Zero says that he doesn’t care what they watch.  However, it’s mostly because what entertains and relaxes him is seeing Yuki laugh watching her favorite shows.

Yuki takes the longest to get ready, although she goes to Zero’s door first.  He’s ready very fast, as he does move faster than her, but he takes a lot of time trying to swallow the blood pills.  So technically she takes longer, but he’s the last one out the door.

Actually, Cross cooks the most.  Yuki doesn’t cook much since she knows Zero doesn’t really eat human food anymore, but she still does it whenever he’s feeling sad so that he can taste it.  Zero tells her that he doesn’t like her cooking, but in truth he’s touched.  And scared that with everything she does for him, it’ll be harder for him to die if necessary.

Yuki actually takes up more of the bed and is a total blanket hog, something that Zero finds both annoying and endearing.

They don’t have a pet, seeing as dorms don’t allow pets and things like pets slowly fade away as things become more serious between Kuran, Zero, and Yuki.

The model just waited until the right moment for when she could come out of her little hiding spot. But, being the keen-sensed person he was, wouldn't he have known her presence already there?

A light swing in her legs as they dangled from the tree branch, cerulean hues settling onto this foolish guardian who seemed like it was to his own accord, he could do what he want. And to have been a rival of dorm president; it was a high offense to everyone in the night class to have some sort of grudge against him. But there were just some people who were passive within all that nonsense.

As soon as the smaller brunette left with the Artemis rod, Zero was alone, watching her trod along. Rima followed the gaze, watching as soon as she left the field of vision, he immediately took out a miniature box filled with blood capsules.

"She's going to find out," came out with the support of her dainty voice, "sooner or later."

She was normally soft spoken, a lady of a few words, but that's all she had to comment as she slipped herself off the branch, landing rather gracefully onto the rails of the platforms, her gaze locking onto him with a mild look of boredom.
