I completely head-canon that while Nancy is the abusive one, Geoffrey is complacent in it because he doesn't want to 'cause trouble'. Which is why Johnny processes his trauma through humor, because therapy is expensive and like, being a comedian in a trailer doesn't exactly provide medical benefits. And I feel like Malcolm sort of was never the subject of the abuse so he doesn't really understand. Also I feel like Johnny is a sunshine pansexual bean who slashes rich people's tires.

Geoffrey is a gold digger and a little bitch for not standing up to Nancy for disowning and kicking out their son. He doesn’t want to lose the assets and lifestyle he’s accustomed to. Also she got him his job. But at the same time Geoffrey probably has done some awful stuff but lives a facades that’s “oblivious and kind hearted” and maybe he makes Nancy do the dirty work so his hands are clean and he reaps the benefits🤔

Trans!bi!Johnny, and that's why Nancy disowned him. And Malcolm realizes he's gay as he gets older and gets back in contact with his brother to have someone to talk to. (We all know Geoffrey wouldn't be able to hide it from his wife, lol)

i love that almost everyone who has mentioned malcolm in my inbox just agrees he’s gay, like he just exudes snobby gay energy. that’s the best thing he has going for him honestly

idk if you’ve had this idea before but what if Johnny is low key scared of marriage and parenting bc of how his parents fell apart and so he falls in love quick as a person but it really scares him??
