One of the strangest things I've had to do so far in my career of being a college badminton coach is the time I spent ten minutes of warm-ups explaining the lore of Geico commercials to the class

I think more characters in fantasy should be randomly named after countries and cities the way people in real life are.

I've met people named California and Paris, so where are my characters named after the city overseas known for being the center of the alchemy world? Or a character named after a romantic fae country that tourists are always flocking to? Where are my characters getting side-eyed for being named after the country NEXT to the country that kids are always getting named after?

Being a badminton coach of college students is actually the funniest profession because where else could I witness a grown man take a running leap at a shuttlecock while shouting at the top of his lungs "THIS IS THE ONE!" and swing with the entire strength of force given to him by his god, only to entirely miss his swing and proceed to get KO'd as the birdie bounces directly off the top of his head while landing on him
