I love fish please talk more about the fish you saw!!
OK so, first thing we saw when we arrived , otter but otter not fish so I will zoom past the mammals we saw. A majority of the species we saw were variations of rockfish (being that is a pretty dominant species in California)
The next exhibit I went to was more specific to areas of the ocean being closer to shore kelp forests, a lot of animals there were Leopard sharks (a personal favorite, I picked up a pretty big plush of one in the gift shop ;] (Also in lovely news! Monteray apparently sells plushes that have 100% recycled stuffing :O ))
There were also LOTS of bat rays in the aquarium (makes sense being the second part of their scientific name is literally California)
Pretty fabulous guys
Then there was also !! A "Tentacles" exhibit with all sorts of cephalopods! My mother found her favorite creature the "Stripped Pajama Squid"
But in a good where there isnt a lot of fish to talk about, Monteray looks to be good people. The exbibits where large but with little fish in them (presumably for space management). Many a board talking about ocean conservation and plastic waste in the ocean. So definatly still one of my top aquariums even if I had to bring my ear protectors to deal with loud toddlers
