Oh man, have we been WAITING for an ask like this.

May I introduce you all...to Saft.

Saft is the newest creation from the brilliant mind of @monsterlovinghours who gave me permission to post about him. Here’s what we know about him so far:

This lovely specimen is German. Saft in German means Juice (we didn’t like the German word for Beetle 😂)

Before he was Saft, he was Josef, a 15 year old lying about his age to serve in WWI. The things he saw traumatized him to the point where he went prematurely gray. When WWII was in its earliest stages, he noped the fuck out of there and became an informant/mercenary for hire/ammo smuggler, where he first met Zhuk. His information proved invaluable to the Conglomerate, and his skills in combat weren’t shoddy either. His reputation grew as one of the only killers for hire that even the Nazis feared. But during the war, Josef was fatally wounded on a mission ordered by the dons. Bleeding out in front of them, Gio did what he could, and ended up turning him into a demon at the expense of a MASSIVE amount of energy. Thus, Josef became Saft, and became a proxy member of the Conglomerate, providing information when he could and contributing to Zhuk arms deals with him ammunition smuggling. And of course, carrying out contracts on the powerful and cruel when need be.

His experiences in war have turned him into the antifascist anarchist punk that he is today. Very active in punk scenes around the world, can regularly be found throwing tear gas canisters back at riot police disrupting a peaceful protest. He’s seen how the political games of those in power destroy lives, so you bet he’s ready to crack some skulls in order to fight for the freedom of the working class.

Has one living niece still in Germany, who he occasionally visits.

Smokes Lucky Strikes. They don’t even make those anymore, and no one knows where he gets them.

A singing voice akin to an old 20’s crooner. Good luck not swooning if he’s singing to you.

Smuggled people over the Berlin Wall while it was still standing. Actively participated in tearing it down when the time came.

If you suggest even for one second that he’s every once worked for or sympathized with Nazis, he’ll cut your tongue out. There’s a reason he keeps a switchblade stored in his boots.

Isn’t a regular at the Estate- being an informant means being away for weeks, sometimes months at a time. But when he visits, he always has gifts for you, and stories from distant countries.

Closest with Cia. Regularly acts as Cia’s sparring partner, as he’s arguably the most skilled at hand to hand combat apart from him. They’re often seen leaving the pub, arms sling around each other’s shoulders, bruised and bloodied and laughing their asses off.

Complicated relationship with Gio. He’s grateful Gio saved him from death (sorta), but Gio has more wealth stored up than any human on earth could fathom and keeps most of it locked away. Saft doesn’t understand Gio’s nature as the demon who was most recently human, and Gio doesn’t fully understand Saft’s sympathy for humanity at first. As human lovers and partners come into the picture, he slowly discovers what goodness lies in humanity and slowly but surely becomes much more philanthropic. Still, Saft can’t help but make “eat the rich” and guillotine jokes around him.

There’s more that I could say but part of the fun is learning about these characters as we develop them! So be on the lookout for more art/potential fics for this handsome devil real soon!
