7. name a character you wouldn’t mind naming someone after.

Like in real life, I assume? well, if I’d had a daughter she might have had Arwen as her middle name.  20. name a song that reminds you heavily of a specific fandom or character.

Okay this is not even really “my” fandom, but there was a fanvid ages ago for Buffy the Vampire Slayer to “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”. I can’t hear that song without thinking the vid, to this day. I can’t even recall who made it. That vid and Buffy is just surgically implanted into that song now.

RHCP’s “Dani California” I was planning to be a Sharon Agathon vid, but I never finished it, but I still think BSG whenever I hear it.

More recently, I have to say that the “Avengers” group that Thor joins in my Music Is Magic AU, is basically Imagine Dragons, so I always picture Thor instead of Dan Reynolds. What Loki’s solo act sounds like changes, but not Thor’s. IDK I am uncool, sorry, internet!

4. Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)

hm, wow, this is hard. Most of the small bits I’m most proud of generally are scenes/moments where the story turns, not because they’re particularly outstanding prose. 

So here’s one of them (recency bias alert, because I’m working on continuing The Ice Demon and the Red Skull). This is the moment when Loki meets Wanda and senses her kinship (she’s his descendant in this ‘verse, fyi, for those unfamiliar): 

Loki stepped forward, extending his hand. "Then I owe you a great debt of gra... ti... tude..." He dropped his hand and his voice faded away, as he felt an odd echo within, a sense of familiarity. There was a feeling from her that called to him and found its match, rebounding to both of them. Wanda seemed to feel it, too, her gaze snapping up to his with wide-eyed shock.

8.  Is what you like to write the same as what you like to read?

Generally, yes? As I’ve gotten older I tend not to be interested in some of the tropes that I used to, so I don’t write or read them (like, I find a lot of fic thinks that excess substitutes for story and it’s just boring to me now) Though specifically no - I don’t tend to read the same fandom I’m writing in.  14. At what point in writing do you come up with a title?

lol, five seconds before I post it? Sometimes, at least that’s true. The title is almost always last, with only a few exceptions. I honestly don’t obsess about them to the level some in fandom do - I have 200-something fics and I figure I’m lucky if I don’t repeat one!

I'd love to play the commentary bit! So hard to choose... but since I love your Sigyn so much ( and I was so excited waiting for Loki to collect his kiss!), can we do Afterglow?

Oooh! Yay - thank you for playing! 

I suppose the obvious question is: Why did I make it post-sexy-times, rather than actually write out their First Time? some of that is just to keep it short. Writing set up for that take a lot of words that I wasn’t sure I knew where they would fit later, if I did a bigger continuation in the ‘verse. So you’ll notice there’s zero place or time mentioned, so it can go pretty much anywhere.

I also wanted it to pay off a couple of lingering things from Comes The Hurricane - first, the prompt (”Did you think I forgot?”) led me straight to Sigyn asking to see his other form again. I think it’s easy to forget that, in this ‘verse, Sigyn meets him in his Blue form. Like, it’s nice that Tony thinks it’s kinda cool and calls him a Smurf, but it’s Sigyn’s favorite. She didn’t have to ‘get used to it’ and Loki can’t toss away the acceptance as Midgardian ignorance. It’s simply who he is, to her. So I wanted to bring that back, for him and them as a couple.

And  then I just wanted to further her kindness and accepting love of all of who he is. She’s not there to make him more or less, make him ‘earn’ her respect, or anything like that. I know I’ve mentioned it in comments a few times with her, but Sigyn (and Frigga for that matter) is me pushing back on the fandom/cultural worship of Strong Women Who Kick Ass. A woman can be strong without having to be a fighter and without putting down her partner (or hitting her partner-- that’s an instant back button).  As Frigga says in Hail of Shadows about Sigyn - it’s a strength to be kind, especially from a household that taught only cruelty.

So, that’s a “DVD commentary” almost as long as the fic! lol

My favorite is Tales of the Storm - all of it!! The 'verse you created just drew me in and never let me go. And you know I love your Sigyn like crazy. I still remember waiting impatiently for Loki to collect that kiss! Ohh, such an incredible story. <3

In the future--

Tony peered around Thor’s bulk that had just arrived by Bifrost in the courtyard of the Avengers compound. “Where’s your bro? Thought he’d come. I upgraded his suit, I was gonna show him.”

Thor shook his head, solemn-faced. “Alas, Stark, you will not see Loki for … some time.”

“Why? What happened? Is something wrong?” Possibilities ran through Tony’s mind, faster than thought – some old enemy? that trauma coming back? was he hurt?

But then Thor grinned and clasped him on the back. “Nay, my friend, nothing is wrong. Loki is to be a father.”

Blindsided, Tony blinked. “A father? He’s gonna be– wait, with Sigyn? Because there are stories–”

Thor laughed. “With Sigyn of course. Come, I should tell the others as well.”

Tony trailed behind, shaking his head, and already starting to think of what he could make for a present. Armored cradle? It could snap shut on voice command or other dangers to protect the baby, that would be awesome. Or levitating stroller? Did Asgard already have those though? Diaper changing version of Dum-E? Would they like that?

They gathered the others, who had known Loki during the fight against Thanos and the later additions who knew him for his occasional visits since, particularly when the Black Order had come for vengeance and he’d come to help.

Thor explained. “The Healers want Sigyn to stay close and not use the Bifrost or other exposure to high-power activity. They worry that the baby’s mixed blood makes the pregnancy dangerous, and so Loki refuses to leave Asgard either. I have come on his behalf for the news, and to explain that he may not return to Midgard after the child is born either. You are his friends,” Thor added diplomatically, “but the child will require his attention, and unfortunately, our lives are such that–” he paused, but Tony knew.

“We might all be dead before he comes back.”

“Possibly. So he bids you farewell. At least for now.” Duty finished, wishes passed on, Thor folded his arms and looked very pleased with himself. “However, I have another plan. My father has given permission for five of you to visit Asgard, if you wish.
