one of his fingers is broken ; wrapped in tape and splinters . one of his front teeth chipped , yellow bits and bleeding . OTHER THAN THAT he looks the same as always . thin and sheepish , a belly swollen with words and an over abundance of beer and almonds . 

                  ghost won’t tell her what he needs help with , won’t even give ‘er a clue . the only thing she DOES get , is the sense of panic in his eye &&* a body that trembles underneath an over sized coat . the backpack on his left shoulders weighing him down . his mind is stuck on FLIGHT , and she’s the one he tends to runaway too . though now his feet face to the west .

                      somewhere hidden within the walls of her stomach , and the valley of the shadow of death , are the answers to ghosts prayers .

                                        questions have made his head cramped ; he’s had a pulsating pain in his temple for days now . his eyes are dry , because he’s been staring at her for what feels like hours . tying to find a HINT hidden within the map of her nose . he always comes up BLANK .

              && *  so he sips his irish coffee , and narrows his eyes .

                                   ❛  is that how . you ah , take this ?  ❜  it didn’t start off here . but they’re both a universe in motion . constantly tilting one another in a direction not meant for their sort of gravity . DURING that dizzying motion he’ll take a wobbly step forward .  tongue flickers out of his mouth to quickly lick a drop of sweat from his top lip . a gleam of light from the window is aimed directly onto the tip of his knife : the glare resting so peacefully upon her left breast . 

                                 TEETH dig into a now salty tongue , and he can feel the gold grip of his weapon being to burn holes into the beds of his fingertips . his mind , traces her question again . why does it feel like she knows he’s scared ? he’s cool . he’s calm . but he’s EVERYWHERE  ──────  hidden somewhere within his insecurity , he considers the idea that she , like a wild beast , can sense the vibrations of his trembling nerves throughout their shared space . something about the way she stares . her eyes are . . diamonds . he’ll step forward again , the thought of staring back crossing his mind ; instead he’ll stare at the silver target over her chest .

              are his last words before a cigarette is put in between his lips ; after that all will be silence on his end . the flicking metal of a lighter will rattle his bones and cause an echo to bounce off the paint peeled walls .  

  && though his lips are tightly sealed to keep dragged smoke behind tainted teeth , the favour he asked for continues to be heard between them . ‘ elp m’ bury the body . i can’t do it on m’own . ‘ there was no please . there wasn't even a hint of crumbled pride . NOW eyes of a honey dipped cross , look toward them . there is a plead in their corners , but also just a bit of something else that say’s they don’t have a choice .
