“okay, but you’re not hear-ing meeee.” eddie replies in that sing-song way he has as he steps down a little closer, watching her as she expertly lines a wire up that he loses just as soon as it’s pulled taut. whoever her target is doesn’t stand a chance.
he moves in closer then, drops to a squat in front of her, in front of the line. “i’m not saying you need supervision -- you’re obviously fine on your own.” he gestures broadly to what she’s currently doing, never mind the shit she’s got up to the other days of camp. he thinks she’s a genius, really, would be an asset, but she’s fighting against harrington’s team.
“you fuck with one of his, you’re fucking with him, and you really don’t want to do that. as ‘cool’ --” eddie holds up two fingers on each hand then, making quotation marks, “as he is, he’s also a counselor who, ya know, follows the rules.” he gives her a look then, sighing as he straightens back up. “i, personally, think camp would be duller without deviants like you, berman. just make sure nobody gets... seriously hurt.”

though michael has never been an expressive person, he visibly looks frustrated at her question. of course he trusts her. she’s the only one he trusts in this entire camp and even out of it, though they haven’t even known each other for long. maybe she’s just joking, but he doesn’t pick up on the tease and instead is upset now. “of course i trust you,” he says softly, so quietly if she wasn’t paying attention, she wouldn’t hear him. he’s just not eager to jump into the lake right now-- but he could be convinced.
