Good dog news:
We met with the veterinary behaviourist yesterday and she was nearly in tears over how well Baran is doing - his aggression has dropped significantly and we've been (more or less) keeping up his training so he is nearly muzzle trained, no longer lunges at his food dish, hasn't bitten me in about 8 months, and is more conformable sharing space with everyone else in the house.
We met with the veterinary neurologist today for Zim's weird stance and gait, and it doesn't seem to be an issue with his spine or brain, based on video alone. It's possible that it's neuromuscular, but most likely it's orthopaedic so she's going to submit a referral to our new physio and rehab service in town so we can follow up with xrays, weight distribution analysis, and reflex tests. I'm working on muzzle training him too cuz he snapped at the vet who was testing his range of motion last time we went in.
(And luckily Molly the cat is doing just fine, she had the beans while we were zooming with the neurologist, though she's probably due for a white blood cell count cuz it was a bit low when she had her dental done in the fall)
And here's a terrible photo of everyone curled up with me in the chair few months ago
