Zinefest Berlin 2017

The last weekend (04./05.11.) was all about zines because once again the Zinefest Berlin was calling…

It was a super relaxed atmosphere (more then last year), stunning zinsters, super-nice staff and great workshops, all packed in a beautiful venue.

Everybody there was so friendly.

I was allowed to attend a workshop that was already overbooked. And when I came out of it and was slightly overstrained by everything that happened, immediately some people from the staff checked on me and ask if I need anything.

They encouraged me so much to come back the next day and do my own table. Which I did.

It was a rich experience… One thing I liked most was watching the reactions of people who looked through my mostly mental health and abuse related stuff.

I got good feedback and was very proud when, at the end of the event, also some of the zinster themself buyed some things from me.

All in all made me want to do more zines and printed stuff. Because it feels to me like there is a space outside of tumblr where I can and should tell my experiences and connect with people through it.

I’m sure I will be back at Zinefest Berlin next year. ;)

Stolen outtakes from #zinefestberlin: selling copies of “the girl with the pink striped walls” and reading Sartre behind the table. Being surrounded by fellow wordsmiths and artists was humbling and inspiring. Also, every time I sell a copy of my book, it is like watching a piece of me go home with someone else. This was also prior to remnants of the flu telling me that it was time to go home.
