TRIVIA
He is named after the mineral zoisite, which was first known as saualpite.
Sailor Venus killed Zoisite in the manga. His death was postponed until episode 35 of the anime, though. Yet in that continuity, he was killed by Queen Beryl rather than by a hero.
In one of Naoko Takeuchi’s illustrations, Zoisite was romantically paired up with Sailor Mercury. Takeuchi never had the chance to explore the idea of Princess Serenity’s four guardian Sailor Senshi being involved with the Shitennou in the manga. While the first anime and the live-action adaptation both excluded the Sailor Senshi/Shitennou couplings, they were included in Sailor Moon Crystal.
Zoisite and Nephrite were the only two members of the Shitennou to have signature attacks with vocal calls. Zoisite shouted “Zoi” whenever he fired pink petals or energy at his opponent.
Zoisite did not ever pretend to be a civilian like Jadeite or Nephrite, but he did once disguise himself as Sailor Moon. A high quality collectible figure of Zoisite’s impostor Sailor Moon is available through Bandai’s S.H. Figuarts line.
Kunzite and Zoisite’s romantic relationship was unique to the first anime.
In DiC’s English adaptation of the anime, Zoisite was female rather than male. Several other foreign language dubs changed the character’s gender as well.
Zoisite’s voice actor, Keiichi Nanba, also played Gurio Umino and Allan.
In episode 44, Zoisite appeared along with the rest of the Shitennou in a flashback. However, he did not speak.
