🕷️ I've been working on a Drow family storyline lately, and one of the characters was turned into a drider. Zolond is the second son of the Abbylan house and was largely ignored by the rest of his family. After his older brother Pharius escaped the Underdark, Zolond was forced to take the test of Lolth as his brother’s replacement. He failed but didn't die, which resulted in him undergoing the ritual to become a drider and become cast out from the city. Pharius was unaware of his brothers fate, and after being forced by his younger sister, Amalica, to return to the Underdark he finally reunited with his little brother… the monster that he had created.

Veldrin Zolond.

Veldrin is the elderboy of House Zolond from Menzoberranzan. Unlike most drow, who have white hair, he has red hair, a unique trait he was born with. He worships Vhaeraun, who is his patron, instead of Lolth.

Veldrin has several sisters, none of whom are any kinder than what lies in the Underdark. He has a younger brother, but their relationship is not close.

For one reason or another, House Zolond is not in favor with Lolth, leading to the house falling on hard times.

Veldrin often reflects on his station and beliefs, which never align with drow society.

When on the surface, usually in populated areas, Veldrin often dons the disguise of a Wood Elf.

I had him as the Weapon Master of House Zolond, though he is more proficient in sorcery.

Like most drow, Veldrin is prejudiced toward non-drow. However, he is willing to set aside his prejudices to accomplish similar goals if he has no other choice or is convinced.
