Zombies and Superheros
I just dont get it.
Zombies are dead people you have to kill. Wha? They are dead, but not and you have to kill them or they will eat your brains. Does that make any sense? How do you kill a dead thing?
As far as I remember zombies were used in an old B-movie horror film about 60 years ago. They were a construct that may have been intended as a dramatic representation of the impending doom of nuclear war. Duck and Cover! Good old days. I am sure there are classes at real Universities that study and meditate on that stuff.
But today there are zombie TV series, movies and even parties. Apart from the logical BS of killing dead things why is this so FN popular? Why is this fun?
I think it may be because the Zombies are people and you get to kill people in a orgy of unrestricted violence. Guns Good. Killing Good. Chop head off Good. The Zombies are not mutant monsters like some old video games they are people. So is this phenomenon a licensed method of morally OK murder? Your inner urge to murder is sated.
I do not think this is a good thing.
Then Superheros. Tights? Alien super powers and fighting for right. Even Norse Gods get recruited. Magic and impossible physics. Why tights? Not very warm in the cold or protective from bullets and stuff.
My favorite character does not use tights. Ironman has an almost indestructible suit loaded with weapons. They may actually build such things for soldiers. There is a problem though. Even accepting the idea of his magic power cell as OK the concept is impossible as depicted on the screen. In several movie scenes Ironman hits the ground at high speed and stops without getting hurt. Except that a human body inside an indestructible suit would still experience massive Gee loads and well the body would liquefy or be crushed into pulp which is still like liquid.
See Ironman uses science and genuis technology to do his stuff. Not god powers or alien magic. Well sorry science says Bullshit! Pump what is left of Tony Stark out of the toe of that suit after a hard landing.
Heroes fighting for right is a good thing. It would be better if ordinary people fought for right and truth and did not need the crutch of old or modern mythology.
Nilsey: There's a zombie over here with a hot dog on his head.
Hannah: Ha ha. Kill him. Kill him and absorb his soul
Lunch
I didn't bring my work laptop, so my lunch hour at this conference is being spent playing Plants vs Zombies on my phone. Like a boss.
