I had a strange dream

I dreamed about zombies. Not about normal zombies. These were mindless drones that did not feed on physical brains, but the mind or whatever controls the ability to think. When they caught you, you struggled for a little, then went limp and ceased to exist mentally. And you didn't want to capture just anybody. When you turned, you sought the ones you were closest to. The ones you loved and the ones who loved you. Or at least used to. We were in an orphanage. I did not live there, but I was with a group of parent-less children. We had set up a base and defense system against these zombies, supposedly. I was not allowed to know what was happening to protect us, but I trusted these strangers in charge. I was in charge of a room of girls and assigned each a bed and escorted them to and from bathrooms. Then all of a sudden we were under attack. We were on the first floor and we could see faces through the boarded up windows, breaking down barriers and attempting to force their way into the building. It was utter chaos and my group scattered and pushed and shoved their way out. Some couldn't leave in time. I found myself in another room that seemed better protected, but was on the verge of infiltration. A little boy about 8 or 9 years old was in distress and clung to me and I held him as tight as I could as we waited for our loved ones to destroy us.
