so i looked at a list of prompt and i came up with this! shout out to @felixscheesestick for helping me figure out the details! also just a heads up there are technically some stranger things spoilers, but its from season one and there aren’t many details lol… anyway, enjoy!

Chan swears that he came to the library with the intention to study. I mean his bag was full with textbooks and there was no reason for him to carry them around if he wasn’t going to use them. Somehow though, he had opened Netflix on his laptop. He didn’t even remember doing so. One second he was working on his essay, the next he was watching Stranger Things. Chan had started the show a couple weeks ago, but because of his busy schedule he hadn’t been able to watch much of it.
Like normal, Chan had captions on. Even though the show was in English, he always found himself watching everything with captions out of habit from when he had still been learning Korean. He was nearing the end of season one, and just started episode seven. He was barely five minutes in and Ele, Mike, Lucas, and Dustin were on the run from the bad men. The four were peddling their bikes frantically as the three vans chased them. Suddenly their path was blocked by a fourth van driving straight towards them.
Ele concentrated on the van and the next moment it was flipping over them. From behind him Chan heard a gasp, and he paused the episode to look behind him and see where the noise had come from. At the table behind was a boy. His hair was a light blonde and there were freckles scattered across his face. He grinned sheepishly at Chan.
“Sorry for watching over your shoulder mate, that’s actually the same episode I’m on and I couldn’t help myself,” the boy said softly, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. Chan smiled and chuckled slightly.
“I don’t mind, I mean if you want I can give you a headphone so you don’t have to just read subtitles,” Chan offered, holding up one of his earbuds. The boy smiled brightly, his eyes turning into crescents and picked up his backpack off the ground next to him and moved to the seat next to Chan.
“I’m Felix by the way,” the boy said, holding out a hand for Chan to shake.
“I’m Chan,” he laughed, handing the earbud to Felix.
They sat together for awhile, watching the episode in silence together before Chan realized something and paused the episode, turning his body slightly to be facing Felix.
“It didn’t register to me until right now, but you’re speaking English,” Chan questioned, mentally slapping himself for the amount of time it took him to notice. Felix laughed.
“I mean, yeah, I’m from Australia,” he explained. A huge smile formed on Chan’s face.
“I’m such an idiot for not realizing, I’m from Australia too!” he exclaimed. Felix giggled at Chan.
“I could tell with your accent,” Felix said, chuckling at the blush that spread across Chan’s face. He patted Chan on the back twice before reaching forward to play the episode again.
Before they knew it, the two boys had finished the season. As they had watched the episodes the library had slowly cleared out as it had become later in the night. Felix pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked the time.
“I should probably head back to my dorm, I have an early class tomorrow,” Felix said, zipping up his backpack beside him.
“Could I maybe get your number so we could do this again sometime?” Chan asked lightly, a small blush across his face.
“Of course mate,” Felix laughed, holding out his phone for Chan to put his number into.
With his phone in hand Felix stood, waving as he left the library. Chan sat frozen for a moment before snapping out of it and closing Netflix and opening his unfinished essay. He had just started to work again when his phone buzzed on the table beside him.
Unknown Number: i had fun watching stranger things with u! there’s a movie coming out this weekend that i wanna see if ure up to it

Felix: cant wait mate ^^
