We’re a little sad to be starting this year with a new lockdown – but hopefully we can provide plenty of opportunities for conversation and creativity via Zoom. If you’d like to join in with our sessions but Zoom is a problem please do get in touch, we’d like to try to find a way to still include you in activities if we can but we can't do that if we don't know. We do know that Zoom isn’t the best platform for everyone but it is the only way we can continue to run our workshops and Open Mic for now while we are unable and unsafe to physically meet up.
At the moment, we don’t know when we’ll be working face-to-face again. Of course, we’ll do our best to keep you updated as soon as we can and we will bring activities back to being in person when it is safe for us to do so.

With that in mind, here are the dates for the next bunch of activities happening in January and February so you can get them in your diaries.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Dry Open Mic?
Our Dry Open Mic is a session where any group member can come and perform something. You can perform a song, poem, dance, magic trick… it’s up to you! You can also just attend as an audience member – there is no pressure to perform. Each act gets up to 10 minutes to perform (2-3 songs), sometimes longer if it’s a quiet event, and it’s always really great fun. It’s a great chance to try out performing if you’re nervous, as our audience is always super supportive! The Dry Open Mic takes place on the last Tuesday of every month.
What are the Tuesday Games/Quiz sessions?
Our Tuesday Games sessions are a mix of quizzes, party games and brainteasers. You can play on your own or with the rest of your household, and all you’ll ever need to join in is a pen and paper. These happen on the 2nd Tuesday of every month.
What is a Creative Conversation Club?
Our Creative Conversation Clubs are workshops that are split into two halves – in the first half we have a social catch up and then have conversations about a particular theme, and in the second half we set a creative challenge for everyone to work on individually, based on the theme. An example is, we might spend the first half talking about holidays and then we might ask you to write a poem about your favourite holiday spot. We provide lots of advice and guidance for joining in, and there is absolutely no pressure to read your work aloud at the end (but you can if you like as we love hearing it!). Creative Conversation Clubs run in blocks of 6 weeks and currently take place on Wednesdays. Our first set of CCCs of the year will use arts and crafts activities each session, but you won’t need any specialist equipment.
What do you mean by ‘Dry’?
All of our sessions are Dry. This means that we ask that – although you are in your own homes – you do not drink alcohol before or during our sessions. We ask that everyone joining in with our activities respects the Dry online space.
Can I send the Zoom codes to someone else?
It’s important to us to keep the online sessions safe and secure so we ask that you don’t share the Zoom codes via social media or send out a mass email to all of your contacts. However, if you know someone who may benefit from joining in please feel free to share the details with them, or ask us to share the details with them (make sure you have their consent to share their contact details with us). If you do share them with a friend, please let us know so that we know who to expect at the session.
We are reachable by email – [email protected] – and by text message or phone call to 07493 522546. Please note, the phone is generally in use Monday-Wednesday as this is when our activities run so we may be a little slow to reply if you text us later in the week! We check emails every day though and reply as quickly as we can.
