What saddens me is that Antony Snootley's gangster look didn't make it into the final film

Antony Snootley, the anteater smuggler from Zootopia 2!

I can see creative process behind this:

“We’ve got an anteater here, and he’s hot for no reason, what else?” “Anteaters have extendable tongues…” “Oh no, this is too hot! Gonna keep up with family rating, give him teeth.”

Seriously, as happy I am for “obscure” animal representation, anteaters do have that ongoing issue with accurate depiction in animation. It’s either wildlife misplacement (“I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” is amazing, but anteaters don’t belong in savannah or Africa at all), or conflation with aardvarks (former listed issue being a source of confusion, I believe), or apparently that, the teeth… But look, I can see explanation behind this: in the universe of movies, animals developed human mind and obtained ability of speech, so they developed organs of speech for it, hence teeth even for creatures that don’t have them in our reality. From what I can gather so far, animators do research, they just bend rules of reality for artistic purposes.

So, for the movie itself (spoiler free review):

I liked it enough. As sequels go, it’s so often not much of an original work, but more of the same as its predecessors and kind of a fanservice for admirers of first movie. To be fair, universe of this franchise, like “Toy Story”, allows for exploration from many angles, and it’s what the sequel does: delves into the history of its universe. It’s not the sequel that surpasses its original, 2016 movie still has more engaging story and poignant conflict, one piece of criticism on my part being its central allegory. It uses predator/prey parallel as generalized allegory for a number of different social conflicts to each of which it can’t be fully applicable. Sequel is more precise and on point with its metaphor, so for this I give it credit. New characters and gags, including callbacks to famous parts of first movie, are quite enjoyable, though nothing as timeless as sloth scenes from first one. This time, I’ve found cameos of Bellwether especially hilarious (she’s got prominent Sideshow Bob vibes). From the new characters, Gary the snake is pretty endearing, he had adorable dynamics with Judy in particular. I like how subdued and delicate his character is (of course, there’s another character that is responsible for the lulz, but I’m not much a fan of these types, to be fair). And [here goes slightly spoilery part, sorry] the story at once managed to squeeze both obvious and not-so-obvious villains at once, it was sleek of them I admit (not without lampshading as well) [end of spoilery part]. All and all, very nice movie, maybe first Disney movie since Encanto I unambiguously enjoyed. Still hold high hopes for Hexed next year (I’ve forgot to look for advance cameos)!

Maybe expect to see more fanart at some point or another…

After watching Zootopia 2 (amazing movie it beat the 2020s bad disney sequel and movie curse) I absolutely loved it

Also. How the hell did I, out of all the characters (theyre all great written characters there's no shade there) get the most attached to this anteater whos on screen for a bit and is voiced by Bruno and Sid the Frickin Sloths voice actor?-

Hes named Antony its like Anthony but ant cause anteaters are known for eating ants and its in the name

I actually had the oc in mind while watching Zootopia 2. daydreaming later I made her!

This is my oc Lynette Hyen-Thorne. And if it aint obvious, shes a Spotted hyena.

Shes hyper and energetic to say the least, when daydreaming making her she be like a little Nutjob (like the few i inspired off of her) she can beat someone's butt if provoked. A bit of a Temper and sass but a good heart inside and fun gal to be around

She dose guitar. Shes one of those guitarists who'd play music in a street for some cash. She enjoys doing music and some songwriting and has since she was younger

She has 2 older brothers named Oscar and Phil and a older sister named Suzanna (shes the baby of the family) . She lives with her sister and her nephew (her sisters teenage son)

She lost a tooth in a fight by getting punched by a guy and beat that guy up. she replaced that tooth with one she got from the guy (thus the gold tooth)

She was born with different hand patterns like her siblings

Imma ship her with Antony cause yee. (I run on Oc x Canon at this point)
