YESSSSS! honestly this is very fitting because i had some very omon-related dreams last night lol

(also don't worry about not watching the pokemon series i get it it's really long)

anyways major spoilers and all that you know

also if you want you can out the yap session i had in my the superior omon anniversary art dump (will probably contain some points from there too but i'll try to include other stuff too) but that's more focused on ayy and omon and why i think they're interesting together

when dan had to roll the d20 to see what starter he got, he rolled a 3 to get omon! (honestly that plus the 3 crits thing with winner's tepig and some other stuff is why i think his lucky number is 3. it just hits his vibe and other unova nukes members have numbers associated with them (angle's is 306, tenn's is 10 and also some other multiples of 5 and 10)

also ik i mentioned this earlier but i find this so funny: "wait is omen the good or the bad one? well, it's an omen of things to come." *omon and winner's tepig collectively score 3 crits in one battle* "IT'S AN OMEN!!!!"

quote taken directly from episode 1 that i think is important to his character and i wanted to put here: "omon spells, like, a character who is sort of blissfully unaware of what's going on around them but can just take hits like a tank and then deal incredible amounts of damage. but he's just naive about doing it at all."

(also i just love that he's called the good omon and then he evolves into serperior and becomes the superior omon... yeah)

the seed of good omens was only named that after omon died because that's when it started getting seen as like the thing that would get the unova nukes through the elite 4 + champion

speaking of which!!!! there was a lot of really good luck in those battles so in a sense his spirit lives on hehehehehe

also i find it interesting that two of his held items are good luck charms (the seed of good omens and the lucky egg) so that's pretty cool

another quote but this one's from episode 4 when he got the seed " dude and who grants the best miracles? i know who grants the best miracles in this..."

he was the longest living starter before noikle and he sacrificed himself for tenn... oughhhh...

okay!!!! i'll specifically do this for failboat pokemon because the obsession has been kinda returning recently.

a bunch of spoilers under the cut. like all of them.

there is some strange connection with dark-type cats, especially during the alola nuzlockes. (the four moments that i think of are the sun team wipe, moon team wipe, chiff's death in the finale, and the first shield team wipe. if i had a nickel for every time a dark type cat pokemon caused a team wipe in a run, killing the starter and many other iconic pokemon, i would have 3 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened 3 times.

angle canonically writes fanfic.

phub is kinda the big brother type of the ultra moon a team, especially towards eepi. (in my personal interpretation, she comes to him for comfort sometimes, as she feels like an unappreciated team member, even being called "dead weight" by failure) (bonus note: i think it's kinda funny how failure thought eepi would be the death of upi, considering what happened in that water trial.) "GET IN THERE, MY FLYING BATTERY OF DEATH!" /ref

keepo and nick sometimes get a little mischevious around each other (both naughty natures.)

keepo was the revival (i think? i haven't watched omega ruby yet okay) of a wingull from omega ruby, which was completely unintentional and was only pointed out by his mods after the fact. even funnier that she was connected to phub, since he was the result of all of that magnemite stuff.

okay more on the revival stuff, there were a lot of times where characters were brought back. i think the earliest example was rarupp. she was a poliwag named after one of his mods, rartrin. she died in an off-stream accident with a magby and magmar. she was later revived as a phantump/trevenant since rartrin's minecraft skin was a tree, named rarrupp.2. it was an accident but i think it fits with her character.

there was also the whole bhup situation, which i honestly think deserves its own post lol. pretty much, back in sun, he got a magnemite, which he named bhup. (side note for fun (30330), who was asking in my sun/moon art dump what the context for bhup's name was. that's just his name. it's bhup.) (for a more literal answer, a lot of failboat pokemon have weird names because he just picks a letter from his chat and rolls with it, unless he's doing a forced naming convention, like he did for rarupp.2.)

anyways during the fight against teacher emily, bhup accidentally flinched to the alolan meowth's bite at a critical moment, ending the run. what i find funny is that he just casually had a copy of moon ready to go and made a new nuzlocke there. anyways during episode 1 it's literally just dan complaining about bhup for like. 52 minutes straight lol.

anyways there was bup in black 2 and phub in ultra moon. bup died like. right away. and phub actually lived for longer than the rest of them did. he died during the totem lurantis fight because it had a fighting move. :( i honestly don't think that the bhups are traitors or whatever. they were just unlucky i think. i literally have a magnemite sitting cutie because of the bhups. (btw i had to split this section so it didn't look weird)

there was also white delilah, who i've mentioned before in that one post, so i'll try to keep this short. originally jojo was a shiny igglybuff gotten during sos chaining as a fun little side thing, planning to make her a "star" this is back when everyone thought ultra sun/moon was gonna be pokemon stars.) also important for later but she has a special clause where she can't die. anyways she was one of the fightinium z inheritors, and her bind for ultra moon/stand was black friday. i think her name came because failboat sung friday on that stream. anways late into the run jojo fainted, leading to black friday's death. she's brought back as the lunala, being named white delilah because of hey there delilah. she dies again in the finale though.

so i feel like this makes me wonder how revival works in the failboat pokemon universe. that was the whole point of this.

like the fightinium z (which i already made a rlly long post about along with the stuff in the white delilah section), the metronome also has a legacy attached to it. it started with fergon in omega ruby, went to jalloll in moon, and then tenn in black 2. it might of continued to ultra moon but uhhhh i forgor (side note: as dan mentioned at the end of the black 2 finale, tenn was the only metronome holder to not die in the finale.)

SPEAKING OF LEGACIES, the king's rock!!! (okay look i've only watched the main vids for sword and some teensy parts of the vods) it originally belonged to happitta in sword. i think it's important to note that after she died, dan kept the king's rock on her. the flinching inheritance continues on with shield, starting with vile. she accidentally died while happitta was trying to teach her, taking on the body of a wild chinchou. it also went on to oh the barraskewda, who later died to a sudowoodo.

SPEAKING OF OH, some of the shield characters had their own little copypastas that the chat would post whenver they did something cool! oh: 🐟oh🐟let's🐟go🐟, i am mole: ᶦ ᵃᵐ ᵐᵒˡᵉ, claws: 🦀big🦀meaty🦀claws🦀

i think that's all the fun little facts/thoughts i can think of now! this just kinda turned into me yapping again lol /silly. anyways here's my other really long failboat pokemon post if you want more stuff and haven't seen it already. and this one too ig.

I haven’t seen any of the Fail Pokemon Nuzlocke Lore but I remember you mentioning during the C!Fail collab drawings that one of the characters there was similar to my C!Fail in terms of both of them being cursed! I was curious, what’s the curse lore of that?

(for anyone who cares about spoilers they are kept very light here btw)

throughout all of the nuzlockes, the nuzlocke is seen as a curse, and is referred to as so throughout the series. i don’t have any clips of it but it definitely happens.

also, in the moon finale, dan’s mic cuts out and starts making these terrible screeching noises that he interprets as the nuzlocke not wanting him to win (I think???? it’s been like two years. i need to rewatch it.)

also i clearly remember mito referring to the nuzlocke as a curse in the ultra moon finale sooooo… yeah

also for that failboat collab, i drew a failure, the protag of the shield nuzlockes. shield never actually finished. in one of the failtopia streams, he explained that he didn’t know if he wanted to keep editing sword or edit shield so he never finished it. from my knowledge, a failure is the only girl failboat pokemon protag. i think she’s really interesting and cool!

i do like the other failboat pokemon protagonists, i just like her design and have a lot of memories from shield because they were the first vods i watched (which i would not recommend. if you’re gonna start later, start with moon. all the other have spoilers to previous nuzlockes.)

(also, despite being the failboat pokemon fan here, i haven’t watched omega ruby yet. i plan to soon.)
