For WTC, are there still a lotta people who don't live on the tree? What kindsa places do they live, how do they do the stuff the tree people do with magic, are there any particular Reasons they don't live on the tree?

There are a few small dragon towns scattered around the world outside of the tree and there oceans are still full of murfolk, however pretty much everyone lives on the tree.

Except for the trolls. Trolls refused to move into the tree and still live in nomadic communities around the planet, however there are a few trolls, mostly half trolls, that moved into the tree on their own, however unfortunately many people are... very racist against them. Especially elves but they are racist against everyone, so

For WTC, how did those scientists plug into the tree? Was it like. A physical connection or something else?

It is a physical thing, like plugging into an outlet! It can not be done remotely either.

They did invent something which they call runes which is like a battery, so they do have mobile devices such as phones, cameras, and guns however they are not common because they are incredibly expensive. Almost everyone has a landline phone, home pc, and tv though cuz those were easier to make as they can plug right into the tree
