An unexpected surprise appears on the singles line. A huge pokemon, so tall it has to crouch inside the tunnel, appears without warning during rush hour. The portal it steps out of glows brightly with golden light, illuminating the dark tunnel. When the pokemon steps fully out, it the portal winks out, forcing the train driver to blink the after-images away.
The pokemon has the most peculiar things. A wooden bracelet on its arms, a tattered coat on its back, and in its claws, an old but familiar hat. Ingo hasn't been seen in several years, so how did this pokemon get his clothes?
Ingo is finally home. He's a bit taller than when he left, and his hair a bit longer too. Emmet won't mind though; Ingo is finally home.
I had a vision come over me the other day. In that vision was the general layout of this piece: Ingo stepping into a tunnel, framed by the driver's window of an approaching train.
There are a decent number of stories on Ao3 featuring Ingo being transformed into a Hisuian Zoroark and then taking the quick route to reunite with his brother. I can't remember the titles of any of the top of my head, so this is a fanart to all of them. If you wrote a Zoroark Ingo story, this art is for you.
After about 16 hours of work, I've realized my vision. I did a lot of experimentation with compositor nodes, some of which ended up in the final version and some that got thrown away because I found an easier way to do it.
I'm pretty pleased with the results, what do you think?
