Zorv Lesatkan Arsip Lama Dalam Sebuah EP ‘Moonswimmer’
Summary: It's the first time Lauren crosses over, and she gets pretty banged up.
Side note: A very short, 674 word count, of what a first encounter between the two would be. I don't know if I'm going to make this into an actual chapter based short fic or not. Depends on the interest, I guess.
It happened when Lauren Lewis was driving to the light fae compound.
A bright disorientating flash.
A squeal of breaks.
Pain in her abdomen and shoulder.
Lightheaded, blurred vision, queasiness, all signs of blood loss, she cursed herself as her doctor took over.
Lauren looked down at her torso in shock, then horror. The rod was sticking out of her stomach like a grotesque Halloween costume. She tried to move just a small inch but found out none to kindly that the rod sticking out from the right side of her stomach was pinning her to the seat.
Quieting her breathing, she had to calm down before she went into shock, she questioned herself as she heard impossible sounds around her. Instead of the faint noises of the city miles away, Lauren heard them all around her, as if they were right next to her than a few kilometers in either direction. Her hair was splayed in her face, and she tried to see through the blonde strands as she looked around her. She almost started to hyperventilate again at what she saw.
All around her were people staring, looking around, on their phones calling for help. But that was impossible, Lauren had tried to reason with herself, there could be no way she was in the city. That would mean her teleporting from one space to another and that was just impossible. Yeah, Lauren had said to herself, because working with a race that predated humans wasn't. As she looked around at her surroundings, a man saw she was moving and came to help her. Only to look at the wounds she sustained, looked into her eyes helplessly, and backed away after opening the door. Lauren strained around herself and wedged her thumb into the seat buckle, unclasping it and moving it over her shoulders, stopping it just where the rod stuck into her shoulder. Now the only thing pinning her there was the metal in her abdomen.
Great.
Her vision was beginning to blacken at the edges, she was losing way too much blood. Trying to think of anything to keep her mind awake and alive, Lauren barely noticed red hair glisten beside her.
“Hey, you're okay.” A female voice was speaking beside her, calming her down, assuring her everything was going to be fine. Lauren looked up at the most beautiful green eyes, with brown specks around the pupil, she had ever seen. The redhead leaned in closer to Lauren to assess the danger the woman was in, and Lauren could swear it was from the blood loss because she felt herself lean into her, trying to smell her hair.
What was she doing? Bleeding from a severe wound, about to lose conscious, but hey let's smell the pretty ladies hair. Lauren would have rolled her eyes if not for the pain that jolted from her shoulder as the woman tried to take the rod out after moving the seat buckle around it.
“I don't think that's wise,” Lauren said, her breath hitching as she looked over her shoulder. The woman slowly pulled her hand away from the rod in Lauren's arm and smiled sadly.
“Sorry.”
Lauren's vision began to dim and suddenly she asked a question that was so out of place, so looney, but would spark their relationship for the days to come, “Please, what's your- name?” Lauren's eyes shot up to the redhead's and she tried to communicate the importance of just a name.
The redhead smiled, looked into Lauren's unfocused eyes and said sweetly, “Olivia Dunham, nice to meet you, champ.”
That was the last sweet thing Lauren heard before she lost consciousness.
Olivia: The last time I traveled from the Other Side I had terrible headaches and-
Lauren: Don't worry, you should be fine.
Olivia: I'll be okay?
Lauren: You'll be okay.
