My thoughts on Zero Repeat Forever as I read it:

Oh my god, toxic dependency on chapter one. I already love you Eighth.

Eighth and Sixth are giving me Lorien Legacies flashbacks except they're NOTHING like Eight and Six. Maybe the evil, Mog versions of them.

Tucker is the ultimate plot device but at least we didn't get attached to him first.

People I BEG YOU, don't name your twins the same thing with different seasoning. It is so hard to keep track of 'Is she talking about Topher or about Tucker'.

I feel like the writing is a lot like classical books rather than modern one and it's actually refreshing, I love it.

I keep going between "Toph and Rave will have a thing' and 'pfft, this two will never have a thing' so fast.

Someone get this guy Eighth out of there. He's too precious for them.

150 pages in and only now am I realizing it's 18+ (oh well, too invested).

I feel like there isn't a single person in this book who doesn't smoke. Insane how they literally have more cigarettes than food.

I was wondering if the vague descriptions of Liam being annoying and weird were just to force us to hate him, but scratch that now. That's a douchebag if I've ever seen one.

So the Nahx are a mute species? I keep wondering what they look like inside the armor.

The contrast of going through a 20 page chapter in Raven's POV then getting 2 pages worth of Eighth is so funny sometimes. And In character. Her chapters are descriptive have a mix of shallow and deep thoughts, and dialogue, ofc. His chapters are one emotional breakdown after the other with some sprinkled memory loss here and there.

Mandy is like a saint next to everyone, lmao.

I love Swayer. One moment, he's fawning over olives and eating them straight out of the jar. The next, he's got his gun loaded and ready to protect his reluctantly adopted kids.

I thought "Xander is funny." then immediately back tracked because he's probably dying too soon.

I HAD to go forward and make sure Raven doesn't die and a new POV is introduced instead. Kind of a mistake. She's not dead but WHO TF IS AUGUST???

Raven thinking he wants her to owe him and planning to kill August. Meanwhile August is just there reading her mind like "I def deserve that."

Don't feel like a romance (and def not a sexual) relationship would work for them but honest, I'm living for the dynamic in general.

Dammit. It's becoming a romance way too fast. Back track, back track, can we keep that stuff aside for a minute??

The whole winter part is just drama and honestly? It's not that bad sometimes. It's giving me the feels.

I got to the zero. repeat. forever. part and I feel like it's gonna do a Chekov's gun and come back full meaning later.

Yeah, August isn't that innocent but I still want him in therapy before he accidentally hurts someone.

OOOKAY The switch from hating to liking each other was... fast.

Every time they say nevermore, I need to stop and sign it myself. It's like a "THEY SAID THE THING" moment

Xander's got some serious plot armor, I think liking him is now safe.

It always takes me off guard when major characters just die like that. What do you mean, Emily was the main emotional conflict in one part and now she's got an arrow through her eye???

WHAT DO YOU MEAN RAVEN IS SHOT?!?!

I'll be real, the second she said he looked a little Chinese, my theories went places (this was published before 2020 😭 how???)

OKAY, that was one heck of a book. The romantic relationship is jumped and it is generally very horrifying. Cannot exactly recommend to everyone, but I love it. Onto the next!
