Asteria is prone to visions and prophetic dreams, as well as possessing a very strong innate magical ability, so her name comes from the Greek goddess of nighttime divination.
Iris is named after the goddess of rainbows, not just because of the multicolored, artistic world she comes from but also because of her forgiving nature.
Briar is Zelda I from aol, she's named after Briar Rose, the sleeping beauty! Zelda II is named Akari, a tie to her brightness and ability to lead her people like a light during the darkest times in hyrule's history.
