I find it amusing...
...that people somehow discount Tumblrs' success as a social network because it "isn't like Facebook."
Look at Google Plus or any of the vast ranks of Facebook imitators. Then tell me how successful any company is going to be trying to out-Facebook Facebook.
When people are looking for something new, chances are they aren't looking for something which is going to constantly remind them of the thing they left behind.
The fact that Tumblr is so radically different from Facebook is exactly why it's so successful. Facebook was great when all we had was Myspace. Now it really kind of blows.
