Izuku surprises you with his acts of casual dominance. <3
It was a sticky, midsummer afternoon. You and Izuku were both seated on one of the patio chairs, just chilling and talking while Katuski cooked on the grill and the kids ran around.
Everyone was having a good time, enjoying one another’s company under the sun.
Something about seeing Izuku so relaxed made you want to poke fun just for the hell of it. It was an odd habit of yours, but Izuku never thought ill of it. He knew you meant well.
Izuku tipped his head back to sip the drink in his hand, but he froze at once when he noticed you perk up in his peripheral vision.
“‘Zuku, if you had to cheat on me in order to—”
A long, resigned sigh left Izuku at “cheat on”. He promptly set his drink back down near his foot, shifting his body so that he was facing you completely.
“Let me stop you right there.” He cut you off, but it wasn’t at all with rude intentions. His smooth voice and calm tone paired with that evergreen gaze pinned you on the spot. How could you possibly continue your sentence when he looked at you like that?
“We’re not doing this today. Okay, love?” He had his full, undivided attention on you.
Izuku’s arm moved, and soon you felt your chair being dragged steadily across the concrete of the patio below. When you were more than close enough, his calloused touch rested above your knee. He squeezed your thigh. Not to perform some “alpha male” act, but to gently anchor you so you could really comprehend what he was saying.
He waited patiently for you to close your mouth before speaking again.
“I'm not going to cheat on you.” He spoke slowly, like he was talking to one of his students who had stepped out of line. “And if I had to—which, I never will, because I’m a man and I’m capable of making my own decisions—I would choose not to.”
He had to have been hanging with Eijirou too much.
Izuku gave your leg a final tap, as if it were a done deal. In a way, it totally was, because your world had just tilted on its damn axis.
You sat there in awe, blinking like an idiot.
“You hear me, sweetheart? Do you understand that?”
His voice pulled you out of your reverie. It was firm, resolute. But… comforting at the same time? He’d never actually blow up or catch an attitude with you, but he certainly had a new way of setting boundaries.
You snapped out of it, nodding vehemently.
Izuku blinked slowly, chewing the inside of his cheek like he was still waiting for something. Of course he didn’t take that as an answer.
“…Yes, yeah.” You finally responded, sheepishly so. It was suddenly so much warmer outside, and more than just your forehead was damp.
Izuku hummed, nodding.
“Good.” His voice cut off near the end, like he was going to say more but stopped himself.
You leaned in expectantly, hoping he’d just say it.
His expression lightened up again, that familiar boyish grin taking the place of the seriousness that was once present. Was he amused at your expense??
He didn’t say what you wanted him to say, he only met you halfway with a quick forehead kiss. He pulled away, looking smug. He bent over to pick up his drink that he could finally enjoy now that you were sated…
summer fling!izuku is your daughter's teacher and you had no idea.
part 2
The late afternoon sun cast long shadows over the acres of the school as you arrived to pick up your daughter, Leilani. The school seemed to be hosting some type of afterschool barbecue to kick off the start of a new school year. Ah, so that was happening today?
You did remember reading that in the email they sent out. You also remembered the guilt of having to tell your sweet little girl that you couldn’t make it due to your long work hours. Gosh, her face killed you. You put a mental reminder to make it up to her this weekend. Oh, wait– she goes with her dad this weekend. Damn it.
The scene greeted you immediately—kids playing, parents chatting, teachers either helping with hospitality or watching over the crowd. You scanned for your little one when your eyes locked on someone who made your stomach drop.
Working the grill next to a spiky blonde guy, stood a man of messy green hair, freckled cheeks, and unmistakable emerald green eyes that sparked a flood of memories.
That night months ago—the charm, the heat, and your hasty morning escape—came rushing back.
Lani, your daughter, tugged on your sleeve excitedly, bringing you back to earth. You smiled down at her. “Hey, lani–”
"Mommy, I want you to meet Mr. Midoriya! He’s the coolest!" Before you could respond, she dragged you forward. You tried your best to keep up with the tiny curly haired girl who was impressively quick on her feet.
He looked up as you approached, his smile faltering briefly before he masked it with professional politeness. "Hi, you must be her mother," he said, backing away from the sizzling meat before offering his scarred hand that wasn’t holding a utensil.
"Izuku Midoriya. Pleasure to finally meet you."
Damn it, he was so good at pretending he didn't know you. It was for a good reason, you suppose–for the sake of your daughter.
You forced a smile, your heart and mind racing as you shook his hand, the memory of that same hand that caressed your cheek flashing vividly. "Nice to meet you," you managed, voice a little too high-pitched.
Izuku chuckled, setting down the grilling tongs and muttering something to the spiky-haired guy who was working the grill like a pro. From the way he so skillfully flipped and handled that meat, he clearly didn't need any assistance. That must've been what was communicated, because Izuku nodded, giving the grumpy blonde a departing pat on the back before providing you and your daughter his full undivided attention.
Leilani rambled about Mr. Midoriya being the best teacher while you fought to keep it together. Just as you began to brainstorm a proper excuse to leave, Izuku decided to take this interaction to the next level.
He kneeled in front of your daughter, a huge, boyish grin on his face that would have old ladies falling to their knees. Leilani honed in on the man’s handsome face, fully prepared to listen to what her teacher had to say. Mommy too, baby. Mommy too.
“Oh, Leilani, you’re so sweet! I appreciate that a lot! Hey, do you mind going off to play while Mr. Midoriya speaks with your mommy for a bit? Won’t keep her for long, I promise!” He beamed, tilting his head as he waited for the little girl’s response. To somehow sweeten the deal, he held out his scarred pinky finger for her to secure said promise. Oh, he’s good.
Leilani nodded quickly, linking her pinky with his before prancing off to the playground and almost immediately involving herself into a game of Tag with the other second graders.
Your heart sank as you both watched her go. That meant that you and Izuku would get some privacy, even if it was just for a moment. He straightened up, that friendly teacher's smile still on his face. When he finally turned to face you, however, his expression flickered with something you couldn’t pinpoint. Longing? Regret?
"I wasn’t expecting to see you again," he said quietly. Then, his smile turned into a smirk. One that definitely wasn’t kid-friendly.
"I've been wondering where you've gone, love."

part 1
“So, at what point were you gonna tell me you had a daughter?” Izuku chuckled, shaking his head as he lifted his arm and leaned against the fence.
The sun was setting rapidly, and it was starting to cool down. A few parents were leaving with their kids, but a handful stayed just for the barbecue and sunset. You and Izuku had been chatting for a while now. You found that he was surprisingly easy to talk to.
“Well, at what point during our little… affair would I have been able to disclose such information?” You chortled, raising a brow at him. You were standing side by side, with your shoulder almost brushing against his forearm.
Izuku laughed at your little retort, finding the innuendo amusing. “Good point,” he nodded. “it wouldn't have killed the mood, though.” He shifted his gaze from the playground to your face. The golden sunlight complimented the hues of his eyes beautifully. It almost wasn't fair how good he looked, despite the raggedy borrowed apron and loosened tie. He had his sleeves rolled up too, so that he didn’t get too much soot on his white button down.
By the time you realized you were staring, he granted you with that damn smirk of his.
“You don’t agree?” He tilted his head forward, narrowing his eyes playfully. You blinked, quickly recovering. “Agree with what?”
“With–” Izuku cut himself off with a startled grunt. You both looked down at the cause of the sudden interruptance, which just happened to be your daughter, Leilani. She had managed to fully catapult herself into Mr. Midoriya’s hip, giggling as she tightened her grip around his midsection. His eyes glazed over with that familiar warmth, a huge grin spreading across his freckled face.
“Woah, there. You tryin’ to take your brand new teacher out already?” He chuckled as he gently patted her back.
Leilani only giggled more at his humor, detaching herself from his side.
“Do you wanna come play Tag with us? We finally got Mr. Bakugo to join!” At the mention of his best friend, Izuku looked up to seek him out amongst the many hyper children. He snorted at the sight of the spiky blonde fully immersed in the game of tag, taking it a bit too seriously. He glanced down at the little girl again.
“Looks like a lot of fun, that’s for sure. I'm wrapping up with your mom here, as soon as I’m done I’ll be right over, yeah?” Izuku said to your daughter, his blinding smile never faltering.
“Okay! Mommy, you should play too!” Leilani chirped immediately after receiving the information, looking up at you with an excited expression on her face.
“Sounds like a plan, hun.” You smiled, gently picking some wood chips from her curls. “But promise me you won’t fall again. We just washed your hair, remember?”
Leilani nodded vehemently, lifting her smaller hand to help remove whatever wasn’t supposed to be in her hair. “Promise! Okay, I gotta go now!” And she was off.
Izuku had been watching the entire interaction with a twinkle in his eyes. Not so much your daughter, but you. He looked past your appearance. He admired you in ways he couldn’t even explain. The way you walked, the way you talked, he was smitten. He genuinely did not have words for how or why his heart hammered when you were in proximity to him.
Truth was, he hated how things were between you two. He didn’t want a casual fling. He didn’t want to be a casual fling. Sure, it was fun at the time, but what was he to do with his growing feelings? What about the feeling that burned in his chest whenever he thought about a possible future with you?
And it’s not like you weren’t—fact was, neither of you had the balls to speak on it. After all, you were already comfortable with the current arrangement, so why mess that up? Why risk it?
You were the one to catch him staring this time. He stuttered as red blush creeped up his neck, curled around his ears, eventually blooming across his entire face. He ran a hand through his pine green curls, a nervous half-smile adorning his features. He finally broke eye contact, finding the grass below to be quite interesting.
Seeing him like this evoked a warm fondness in your chest that you weren’t familiar with. You were more attracted to him than you thought.
“Look, I’ll pretend I didn’t notice, okay?” You said with a hint of humor in your tone to try to alleviate some of his embarrassment. Izuku didn’t pass up that opportunity. He rolled his shoulders, cleared his throat, and looked out at the playground again as he gathered himself. He was thinking.
After a few beats of silence, he sighed, breaking his own train of thought. He turned his head towards you once again.
“You’re not… With anyone right now, are you?” He asked you in a low voice. You could tell from the way he bit the inside of his cheek that he was still nervous.
You raised your brows a bit at the sudden question, but answered nonetheless.
“No, not at the mo–”
“Are you busy this weekend?”
“Well, no. Leilani will be with her da–”
“Perfect! Will you let me take you out like last time?”
“Sure, but–”
“Wonderful. How about Friday at 6? I found this new–”
“Izuku!” You raised your voice a bit, which finally put a pause on his rapid-fire planning. “Let me speak.” You sighed, bringing it back down.
“I’m sorry!” He managed to squeeze in, his voice comparable to a mouse’s.
You chuckled softly, shaking your head. “It’s fine, Izuku. I just wanted to let you know that I’m willing to pitch in this time.” You figured you’d return the favor after how well he spoiled you in the previous outings, especially when you knew he didn’t have to. He went that extra mile, and you were beyond grateful.
Izuku only stared at you with furrowed brows and parted lips, as if you had just spoken to him in a language he couldn’t understand. Before you could speak again, he beat you to it.
“No.” He simply stated, straightening up. Nothing more, nothing less.
“... No?” You repeated slowly.
“Are you hard of hearing, love? You’re not paying for anything. Not while we’re together.”
His tone threw you. It was firm and unyielding. The way the light left his eyes at the mere insinuation that you wanted to use your wallet on him made you regret even proposing the idea.
And if you were being completely honest… It low-key turned you on. Not even the electric chair could get you to admit that to his face, though.
“Oh. Okay.” You nodded, trying not to make your arousal obvious. His face brightened up once again at your reply, the corners of his mouth twitching upward. Izuku seemed pleased with your response.
His lips jerked again as he prepared to blurt out something, a rather intimate term that he knew would get you worked up. He decided to save it for later, though.
Instead, he took his bottom lip between his teeth and smirked.
“Good…” He trailed off as if there was more to be said, but he didn’t say anything else.
And poor you were hanging onto it, damn near leaning in as you waited, but nothing came. He then chuckled at your perplexity.
“...Anyways, does Friday at 6 sound good? I found this nice spot downtown that I think you’d really like.” He chirped, all bubbly again.
You stood there with a confused pout on your face for a split second, but soon schooled your features as you realized he was just teasing you for the reaction.
“Yeah, that’s fine.” You said flatly. Izuku lifted an eyebrow, but didn’t comment on your tone. Instead, he decided to poke the bear.
“So you’re gonna be ready around that time?” The look on his face was something you couldn’t pinpoint. Impish, maybe? He looked up to no good, you knew that for sure.
“Uhm, yes?” You ended your reply with an upturn.
“Yeah?”
“Yes, Izuku. Why?” You asked pointedly, quite done with his shenanigans.
“Just wanted to know if you could keep being good for me,”
God, you hated how weak you were. You should’ve known he’d try to get you like that. Then again, he’d always been a wildcard. That’s something you did not expect. Not from someone who looked like him.
“You still have my number, right?”
You nodded, not at all trusting your voice. He inched closer, stretching his body across yours. You couldn’t tell what exactly he was doing, but suddenly his scent flooded your senses.
Next, you felt his lips briefly brush the supple skin of your cheek, followed by a smooching sound. You gasped. He was off of you again.
“Izuku, wh—“
“C’mon, sweetheart. Let's go play Tag!”
He grabbed your wrist before you could react, gently pulling you off of the fence and toward the playground where everyone was.
