Today, has been very shocking - in a good way. I was watching a YouTube recitation video of Surah Al Mulk while trying to sleep. My wife was randomly following along near-perfect word-for-word half asleep and I didn't know what was going on. She legitimately knew how to recite most of it - a 9 minute or so long video of recitation. I asked in shock, "How did you follow along with the Imam so well in this video?" She felt embarrassed for a bit, and then stated that when she was young she memorized two Juz when she was younger; unfortunately she forgot most of it. She never wanted to tell others because she's afraid of what others may think of it. Honestly, I'm in Awe. I was so happy to find out she even knew some of the Qur'an like she did. Admittedly, I don't know much at all, but having a Wife know so much about it - out of the blue - made me extremely ecstatic, and truthfully, made me fall in love with her even more. I told her how happy I was that I found out and asked if she would memorize a lot more and teach me it as well. She smiled shyly and said she'll start to memorize more, Insha'Allah. Ahhh, I'm really really happy. This post is completely random and I haven't posted legitimately in forever, but if I have to, I will. I'm super proud of my wife.
