Ramadan is a time when we as humans are reminded. We are deprived of the basic necessities of being a living organism within the hours of fasting in order to gain taqwa, or become conscious of God. We are reminded that we are a soul and have a body.

Dear self, From this day forward I promise you that we will do better. From this day forward I promise myself to: 1) love myself 2) eat better, healthier 3) to put my mental health first 4) forgive me and others 5) make time for reflection, mindfulness, stillness, solitude and God 6) spend wisely and not consume recklessly (whether that's food, people, media, materials, my own negative thoughts etc) 7) see my time and life as worthy 8) give myself permission to start over whenever, wherever, and without reservation. This is a journey to myself, through myself, to myself.
I’ve wanted to start a writing blog for a long time now. I’ve been itching to write but I haven’t be able to. This blog serves as a place to hold space for my thoughts. My thoughts are stars, sometimes they are a constellation. This a journey to myself. I hope that you find yourself mirrored in these sentences and in my stories.
