Now I lay me down to sleep, I Pray...
I pray she makes you happy...whoever “she” is. I pray she’ll be okay with how you like to dominate the aux cord no matter whose car you’re in. I pray she accepts how you eat your leftovers straight out of the fridge when they should be heated. I pray she’ll realize quickly that you don’t like your back scratched or massaged because you’re so ticklish... everywhere. I pray that she’ll admire your eyes, because they are the most beautiful shade of blue. I pray she’ll find the utmost comfort in how protective you are. I pray she’ll love how loud you laugh when you think something’s really funny. I pray she’ll smile at the way you sleep, snoring with your mouth wide open. I pray she’ll trace your skin to learn every freckle and every line. I pray she’ll appreciate the dimple you have on your left cheek. I pray she’ll enjoy your dancing. I pray she’ll long to be in your arms every time they aren’t wrapped around her. I pray that she will appreciate your love and passion for music. I pray she’ll be mesmerized by the way you kiss. I pray she never takes you for granted. I pray that your family will welcome her with arms wide open. I pray she’ll always find comfort in the fact that you never fail to be warm, even on the coldest of nights. I pray she’ll know how to calm you down when you get upset or in a bad place, but my hope is that she won’t have to. I pray that she is all the things I wasn’t, that I’m not, and that I never will be. I pray she’ll love you everyday, the good, the bad, and the in between. And I pray you’ll love her.
