A Velociraptor going after white mice... White mice sweets, that is: In this case, I picked them out to be the "victims" of the classic "small mammal gets victimised by dinosaur" trope because they were something I remember and fit the role of a prey animal. Now, this would probably not have always been the case, but it does make for an interesting spin on an old concept.
However, the Threadless team are US-based, and as far as I know, White Mice aren't a thing in the US beyond artisanal chocolate mice I found while researching them. So I'll need to answer a crucial question when I come to enter this to the current design challenge: what is a White Mouse?
The answer is that it's an UK pick-and-mix classic that looks like this -:

They're quite common in UK sweetshops, and are made by a few brands. In fact, while looking for a picture of some for reference, I found several places selling them online. There are also chocolate versions that are... Well, chocolate coloured and flavoured. However, those aren't quite so common. They're also a pick-and-mix staple where I came from, or at least they were when I was small: I've not seen them for a while, but there again, I haven't been looking at the pick and mix!
I've done some work focusing on American style sweets and snacks for Threadless, including the Spinosaurus with a giant goldfish cracker that you can check out HERE, but this is the first time that I've brought something very English into my work: The other two were either generic (gummy worms) or very American (goldfish crackers) for recognisability, but these are probably going to be quite new for some of my followers. Is this what they'll be expecting? No, but it's always interesting to look at the snacks and sweets of other cultures.
