ManaBerry Headcanons 🍓🐕

Just a list of headcanons under the cut for Manato and Berry <3

Fluff / Slowburn

Manato unconsciously slows down his pace whenever Berry is walking with him, matching his massive strides to her tiny ones without making a big deal out of it.

Berry sometimes hides snacks in her bag “for emergencies,” and Manato ends up getting into the habit of checking if she’s eaten by casually asking “...so, what flavor today?”

Berry tends to curl up in her chair while working long hours, and when Manato finds her asleep at her desk, he carefully drapes his coat over her without saying anything.

Despite his size, Manato is surprisingly quiet when he walks; Berry gets startled when he suddenly appears behind her to hand her something.

They often share earphones. Berry lets him listen to her favorite songs while she types, and he quietly hums along in his deep voice.

Their first hug was painfully awkward (he froze up, she squeaked), but afterwards they both secretly thought about it for days.

Comedic / Chaotic

Berry gets super annoyed whenever Manato photobombs her pictures for the newspaper, half the time unintentionally, half the time very intentionally.

Berry is the only one who can get away with calling him things like “Dog boy” or “Good boy” without getting a glare, because whenever he tries to glare, she just giggles.

He sometimes picks her up by the scruff of her jacket like a cat when she’s being too stubborn, and she shrieks every time.

Romantic Tension / Pining

Berry doesn’t notice how often Manato’s tail wags when she’s around, but Yuzuha teases him mercilessly for it.

He’s hyper-aware of how delicate she feels compared to his strength, and he sometimes hesitates before touching her, afraid he might hurt her by accident.

When Berry gets stressed and overworks herself, Manato is the one who wordlessly sits by her side, keeping her grounded with his quiet presence until she calms down.

Little Domestic Things

Berry loves taiyaki; whenever he spots a street vendor, he automatically buys an extra one for her.

He adjusts shelves, lamps, or cameras for her without being asked, since she can’t reach. He doesn’t tease, just does it naturally.

They accidentally started a shared notebook. Berry writes sarcastic little notes in the margins, and Manato responds with blunt doodles or dry one-liners.
