I Would Rather Fight with You

Starts out as a Camp AU with the J2 being camp counselors. They dislike each other. Summer ends and they accidentally end up living in the same apartment building at college.
My verdict: C+
Spoilers below cut.
Between the two roommates, the weather, and the actual classes (which are askfjsak;lfja;klfsj:HOLYFUCKINGSHIT hard once you stop taking 100 levels, apparently) this semester might literally kill me...
My boyfriend is at lab right now. I'm in his room waiting for his laundry to be done because I know he's not going to do it otherwise.
Yesterday, I did his grocery shopping for him. I need to stop offering to do shit like this.
sophomore year
of the past six nights, I have spent three of those nights sleeping in my own room
pub night is just as frightening as it was freshman year
boyfriend is hilariously grumpy when he isn't allowed to have alcohol
too many people are asking me for friendship bracelets oops
noise cancelling headphones are about the best thing ever
why the fuck do I have a test in an hour I've been in class for a week
Houston weather is as ridiculous as always
who are all these people eating in my college commons
I am so fucking glad to be home
PSA for all those overambitious high schoolers in the LM fandom
(I'm afraid that there's no way to say the following without sounding like at least a bit of a douchebag. Apologies!)
My dash has been brimming with talk of this morning's round of SAT IIs. Congrats to those of you who just survived that particular gauntlet. Pardon the assumption, but I'm guessing that people bothering with said tests are at least considering some stupidly fancy-sounding schools. Now, I don't know what sort of resources any of you have through your school, family, etc., but getting an insider's view of a university can be exceedingly helpful. If you're looking for a way to talk to a Real Life Ivy League Student who's happy to provide insight and input, I just finished my junior year at Princeton (and am not as much of an asshole as this makes me look, swear). Consider this a standing invitation to contact me at any point about whatever - visiting campuses, picking through admissions bullshit, college life, milking your interest in Hugo for all it's worth in your applications, and so on. Heck, if you're going to be around my campus when I'm there (i.e. not over the summer), I'd be happy to show you around and chat. Just drop a line; my ask is always open.
I'm the oldest child in a Midwestern family with no history of playing the admissions game, so I just wanted to make an offer that I would've appreciated four years ago. Sorry for dropping this on the dashes of so many people who won't care!
I'm leaving tomorrow morning.
I'm waiting for my friends to get out of their physics final. My boyfriend and I are going to hang out at our respective colleges, because he's leaving tomorrow, too. After we have spent a sufficient amount of time saying our goodbyes to our friends, we are going to stay up all night until I have to leave at 8AM tomorrow morning.
I hate to leave so soon, when things are finally going so well, but at least I'll be back in three months. It's still so overwhelming to think that my freshman year is so close to being over, but hey, that's life, right? All good things have to come to an end.
I don't know what this summer will bring. I don't have a job lined up yet, or a plan, so I guess I'll just have to find out. I also don't know how being in a long-distance relationship for three months is going to pan out when we've only technically been together for two weeks, but we'll just have to do the best that we can. He said that he wants to come visit me in California, so if I can arrange it with my parents, at least we won't go through the entire summer without seeing each other.
It's been a good year. I almost started crying at work today when I said goodbye to my kids. I'll probably cry more when I say my goodbyes tonight. My side of the room is almost completely empty now. It's weird.
It's been a good year. I've learned a lot and changed a lot but I think this year has ultimately done good. So till next year, Rice. Let's see what sophomore year will bring!
